I got a little excited when I bought a few packs,I got one pack with 2
holograms and 15 gold cards,I thought I got real lucky but I didn't.
In every box there will be one pack with 15 gold cards,I really don't
know how many cards there are in the whole set,so feel free to put in
    the total.

I believe there's 50 of the "G" cards. Doesn't seem like there are too
many Payton cards being distributed. I didn't notice any checklists for
the regular 400 card set. I got a couple of GB3 Holograms (Jefferies)
and 1 Pro Bowl card in the box I opened, no Paytons.

I got no G cards in my box (or maybe they were invisible....)
462.4EBBV03::MONDALTOThu Sep 10 1992 12:4611
I bought a box last nite and got 2 Pro/Bowl cards. The Pro Bowl
card has an NFC and a AFC player on it,I got "PB8 Bennet & Joyner"
    and PB11 "Lott & Carrier".
I also got 4 Holograms, GB3 Haywood Jeffires, GB4 Andre Rison,
GB6 Jerry Rice, and GB8 Andre Reed,I also got my pack of gold cards.
There was 6 of us that bought and opened a box and we all got the gold
cards,me and another guy lucked out with 2 Pro Bowl cards.

    I think they're WR's, Glenn. Maybe Anthony Miller, but I don't know.
I know Miller and Seau are in the Gold set.

    I got PB4 I think. Gossett and Lohmiller. Why a P and a K on the same
    card?

462.7SSVAX::LEONHARDTThu Sep 10 1992 22:104
I have PB16 which is the index, but I'm in Chicago and can't look
it up. There are two players on each one, one AFC and one NFC player.

Please john, it's Clayton and Gary Clark (pb2). I saw the
thurman thomas/barry sanders today, very nice.

Post that index as soon as you can, no one right now seems to
know who is and isn't in the subset.

Hey john mondalto, did you get any Payton heroes? Did any of your
5 friends? It seems the early indications are that payton heroes
could rival the Wests in "scarcity" (at least until the awesome "second
print run" comes out and it's flooded with heroes ;-).

I would like to trade or buy the Lohmiller...

I stopped by a local card store last night and picked up the Payton
cover card for 8$, 1 Payton single for 1$ and the Bench/Morgan Cover
for 7$. Seems like these heroes are getting really tough to find ex-
cept the baseball ones don't seem as bad.

    Dear John,

Oh how I hate to write...... If they aren't ND, and the only one
on the PB's who is is Tim Brown on #15, I probably am not enthusiastic
    about it.

I also stopped in one local store and got a single payton
hero for $1, plus one of the GB holos for $2. I think at
this point $1 is a super price, this guy broke two boxes
and it was his only payton hero. He did get a Pro Bowl
per box. $8 is probably good for the cover too, especially
if later runs are as empty as this initial one seems to be.

Bench/Morgan heroes and covers on the other hand seem way
more plentiful, heck john I would have sold you a Bench/Morgy
    	cover for $5! ;-)

Also many more folks were breaking boxes of UD high baseball for
both the heroes and the best hitter inserts. Football being what
it is around here, far of less of that may be broken down, driving
    up the paytons.

I bought 2 packs just to see what they look like and I got a Payton
    hero (#26)!

    Here's how it happens:
If you already plan on picking up a box, the packs can sense that
you're in it for the long haul, so they don't feel compelled to give
you the good stuff. But if you're not sure if your going to bother
with the set or not, they yield something good to get you hooked! ;^)

Sorry john, I admit to being a slouch lately, I keep printing
out everybody's want notes, take them home amd then never look
at them. Also why I haven't posted a update myself in awhile,
I hope to catch up this weekend. But I have an excuse, I've been
looking for a job! Else it will soon be roy and jeff's card shop ;-)

It appears that the same game of saving three holograms for the high
number wax may be in effect this year. From what I can determine
    GB2, GB5, & GB7 are not yet out. Here's the partial list:

    GB1 Art Monk	GB2 ?? GB3 Haywood Jeffries
    GB4 Andre Rison	GB5 ?? GB6 Jerry Rice
    GB7 ?? GB8 Andre Reed	GB9 Michael Irvin

1992 Hi series is out... Marino Heroes... SP cards of Lofton and
Monk... only high number cards in high packs... Rookie Force card
subset included, with regular cards of Marino, Cunningham, Montana....

Also series 2 has a 20 card UV coated subset called "Coach's Report",
in my one box I got 1 marino hero and 4 CRs of last year's rookies like
Marinovich, Aeneas Williams, Croel, & Alvin Harper. Their nice but
not earth shattering. As with most UD product of late the insert count
seems to vary all over the map. Although thru anecdotes it seems the
Marino's are *much* more plentiful than the Paytons.

Opened a box of series II yesterday. Missing 12 cards for a set. Got
    both SP4 and SP5 cards, 4 Marino's, 5 Coaches Reports, a GB5 ... not
    bad for inserts.
