| This is my first time writing. I just had a question on a collection of
cards. My brother is 43 cards short of a full Conlon Collection. He
has some duplicate cards in the collection. He was wondering what would
be the best way of completing the set. Any suggestions?
He also has some cards produced by Renata Galasso Inc, Brooklyn N.Y.
Are they worth collecting?
Thanks,
C DiTullio

| I saw a few of these cards recently, and being a long time B&W
photographer myself, liked them alot.
So, how much should I expect to pay for a box, and what is the
likelyhood of completing a set from one box?
Thanks,
John D.

| I don't collect these but I thought some of you might be interested.
I saw the sets for sale at Child World last night. $19.99 per set in
a plastic cube-type container, including an autographed Bob Feller
card. The cards with the autographs were visible through the case
and were written with some type of white marker so they would
show up on the black/white cards. I looked at a couple of different
packages and the autographs were slightly different, so it looks like
they weren't stamped or printed.

I was going to ask what they autographed the cards with, since I
tried to get Enos Slaughter to autograph one in blue sharpie.
The card IS autographed, but the autograph is blotchy, and looks
like he used a water based (splotchy, spots, etc.) marker to
sign it.
White marker? Grease pencil? Liquid paper? You got me.
I think a gold or silver metallic pen would work well.
FYI ... there are only four living players in the first series. One
is Feller, one is Slaughter, one is ? Koenig (the only living
player from the '27 Yankees), and one other HOF -- can't remember
which one off the top of my head.
Feller's autograph would cost you $5 at a show, or through the mail
(to him directly), so basically the set is selling for $14.99 -- a
very nice set for that price.
