619.0. "1993-94 Fleer NBA Jam Session Basketball" by PENUTS::JST_ONGE (John St.Onge USDSL DTN 275-2715) Mon Jan 03 1994 10:50

    I was at a local drug store this weekend and I noticed they had packs
    of Fleer NBA Jam Session for .99 cents a pack. Picked up a couple of
    packs. After opening them I went back and picked up what was left from
    the box they had. All total there were 35 packs. Figured this was a
    good deal since BJ's had boxes for 40$. Anyway, out of the 35 packs I
    got complete sets of three of the insert sets and I was missing one
    card from the fourth insert set. For the regular set I was missing 4
    cards. The missing cards were probably in the one pack I didn't get.

    Anyway, I really liked this set. Nice photography, excellent collation
    and nice card design. I also like the fact they give you one insert
    card per pack - please note that Walt ;-)

    The regular set is 240 cards and there are four 8 card insert sets -
    2nd Year Stars, Slam Dunk Heroes, Gamebreakers and Rookie Standouts. I
    give this set 5 out 5 sticks on the Gum-o-meter.

619.1ok set, but bad job on the rookiesSEND::MCEVOYMon Jan 03 1994 13:177
    These cards are the first to feature the big name rookies, Webber,
    Mashburn, etc. Unfortunately, they airbrushed the uniforms of all
    the rookies and they look really bad. I wonder why Fleer had to
    do this??

    I like these too, except for the air-brushed jerseys of the rookies,
    looks really silly. Basketball is a natural for a tall card and
    Fleer did a good job on these. I didn't fair so well on completing
    the inserts sets, I was missing 2 or 3 from each of the 4 subsets
    but I did complete a full regular set.

619.2I still liked the set ...PENUTS::JST_ONGEJohn St.Onge USDSL DTN 275-2715Mon Jan 03 1994 23:286
    Fleer probably didn't have any shots for some of the players in their
    pro uniforms. I didn't think the airbrushing was too bad. Topps has
    done worse in the past.
