338.0. "Nolan Ryan ticket help" by DPDMAI::VENEZIO (never drink SLICE while golfing) Wed Oct 30 1991 19:19

I have an unsnapped ticket to the Nolan Ryan 7th no-hitter. Had a
ticket and didn't go to the game. I had it framed along with the news
article on the game for my daughter.

A recent conversation with someone around its value has it at $350 to
$400 without the frame. Can someone verify this? Remember its not just
the stub, its the whole ticket. It would be limited to the "no-shows"
only, so maybe there's some truth to the value. The ticket was not
mounted to the frame. It's in mint condition.

I may be interested in moving it for a new set of irons.

Thanks John. Actually it's the second "famous" ball game I had a ticket
to and didn't go. The other was the seventh game of the World's Series
when Reggie hit three home runs to win. At least that time I was able
to give the ticket to a worthy friend/fan.

For the Nolan game, I couldn't get anyone to go in my place. Couldn't
    even give it away.

338.3Guess the 7th wasn't at Fenway...TOLKIN::CHOYThu Oct 31 1991 13:479
    Ken -

You must live in Cleveland. It wouldn't be hard to give away a ticket
to a Nolan game here in Beantown. Unfortunately, I don't think he
pitched here all last year. I remember the Rangers were in town for 4
games and he was the only one in the rotation not pitching. He wasn't
on the DL at the time.

338.4Nolan at home in TXDPDMAI::VENEZIOnever drink SLICE while golfingThu Oct 31 1991 18:066
Nolan pitches very infrequently on the road. They need the draw at home
and Nolan is willing to accomodate the fans. I've probably seen him 20
times. If you go the the home games, you will see Nolan. Maybe thats
why there was little interest in my ticket..... and I'm thankful for that.
