324.1$24 too high?CSLALL::KIRKThu Oct 03 1991 03:196

I was given the opportunity to pre-order boxes of these cards at
$24.00 a box. Seems high to me; or, I'm outta my mind! Any opinions?

Yea, the best price I got them for last year was $25 and that was after
they'd cooled down a couple of months. What are you doing, ordering a
    case with others or something?

Any idea when these (or any of the flood of hockey cards coming out
    this year) are coming out?

To completely change the subject, I hear that they'll be giving out
NHL 75th anniversary cards at the Sabres vs Penguins game this Friday
in Buffalo. Anyone know if they'll be doing this in the other NHL
    cities?

Pro Set (the official card company of the NHL's 75th anniversary)
is supposed to be doing something at EVERY city at some point this
    year.

Myself, I wish I had NESN so I could see the game tomorrow night
between the Bruins and the Rangers, in the old-style uniforms.

$24 is a very good price. The absolute lowest I saw UD HK at
last year was $23 for one box. I did see a dealer selling 2/$42
($21 each) at one point, but that didn't last long.

324.5$24 is good....COGITO::RICHARDThu Oct 03 1991 15:0312
If my math is right, you're paying $576 a case for the ud Hockey. The
best price (and probably the most common price) I've seen has been $695
a case. I'm pretty sure Ud uses a 24 box case so even at the best price
I've seen I'd be paying a tad under $29 a box. If you don't mind my
asking, where are you getting the cards from. Most dealers are just
getting the order forms in from Ud this week or recieved them the end
of last, so the prices are starting to appear. From what I've heard,
Big Bob's is the only one that will quote a price for high Ud hockey
and they want $895 a case. ($37 and change for a box)....

A friend of mine who owns a store asked me if I wanted to pre-order
with him. As far as I know he has gotten all the paperwork from UD
and will be putting in the order this week. I don't know when any of
the hockey cards will be hitting the stores though. I've heard any-
where from Oct.- Dec. and from many different dealers. I don't really
    think they know yet.
      Thanx for the replies.

As far as I know, you can only get them in Canada, although, at a
card show that I attended this past weekend, there were a few
dealers that had singles, packs, and Holograms for sale, and they
were all claiming the cards were "rare". Some dealers, as usual,
thought they had gold, and were asking outrageous prices for them.
