This weekend I picked up a couple of magazines. One was a copy
of Life with a picture of Mantle and Maris on the front from 1961. The
other was a Sport magazine with a picture of Mantle on the front from
1956. Both are in VG condition. I paid $4 for them. I'm not looking to
sell them but does anybody have a dollar figure for something like
that.

If there Mint, they get any where from $35 to $50 for Life Mags with
Mantle on the front cover. The Sport Mags go any where from $5 to $15
again depending on condition, and the year. Some of the older Mags,
like Baseball Magazine from 1951 go for $75 and up, they are relatively
scarce and hard to find in good shape. If you ever are thinking of
selling the Maris/Mantle, let me know, I am in the market of buying
that issue, or if you ever see another copy, keep me in mind. I'm
willing to pay you a good $. Thanks.

An aquaintance of mine is going to bring by some old copies of
"Baseball Digest" (late 30's, early 40's) for me to look at. His
parents found a stack of them in thier barn in Oregon, and gave them to
him. He has no interest in baseball, and offered them to me. I haven't
seen them yet, but he says they are in excellent condition.
My question is this: He doen't know how much they are worth, and
niether do I. Assuming I want them, what (in general) is a fair price
for them? Is there anywhere I can go to ascertain thier value?
Are any of you knowledegable in this area? Please help!
