178.0. "Game Programs" by MARLIN::A_JOHNSON () Tue Sep 04 1990 17:15

I have found some programs from various parks -
    1949 - Boston Braves vrs. Pirates - Braves Field -
    1971 - Boston Red Sox vrs. Washington Senators (Ted Williams - Manager)
            ( Spring Training Game) has Carl Yastemski's autograph
               next to his picture.
    also a few programs from Fenway Park for 1974 and 1975 games.

    I also found a bunch of programs from the Ice Capades & Ice Follies
    from the 1940's and 50's.

    All are in excellent shape.

    Any ideas on the value of any of these items ??

178.1Couple of bucks each, wholesale.AKOV13::GASPARONITue Sep 11 1990 16:165
    Probably a couple of bucks at most. Programs seem to attract program
    hounds only, and demand does not appear to be real strong from where
    I'm sitting. The 1949 is probably the best one you have, but they are
    pretty common place at the big shows, or small shops around the area.
    Some dealer may pay you something, but don't expect alot of $$.
178.2Attic hunting finds!ENGINE::MACFARLANETue May 07 1991 14:4819
    I went through the attic at my parents house and found all my old
    magazines, etc. Found a few items of interest. I found a 72 and
    73 Montreal Expos programs, one of which they played the Braves, has
    Aaron all over the place. It was the only time I ever saw him play,
    he pinch hit into a double-play. Also had a 71? program when they
    played the Reds.....has Bench on the cover and I got Carl Morton's
    autograph on the front as well. I also kept score. Bench played
    right field with Bill Plummer catching. Baylor Moore shut down the
    Reds on 3 hits as the Expos hammered the big red machine 11-0. Wayne
    Simpson took the hill for the Reds. Rose went oh-fer with 2 K's.
    I even wrote down the attendence...13,308 in spacious Jarry Park.
    I also found all my old SI's, mostly 71-72.....found one nice one
    from 72 with Fisk on the cover, and found 2 old football posters of
    Willie Smith and Deacon Jones. They both have a nice deckled edge on
    them thanks to attic squirrels.

    Just FYI

	There goes the price of my autographed Boston Red Sox Program...

	Now that Joe Morgan has been fired, the price well skyrocket!

	They named Butch Hobson (Pawtucket Red Sox Manager) as new Boston
	Red Sox Manager..

	If anyone is interested in this 1989 Game Program signed by Joe
	the price is $25  8^)....

178.51949 Boston Braves programREFDV1::FOURNIERFri Oct 30 1992 11:3314
	This past weekend a friend of mine bought a "program" from a
	baseball game.

	July 6, 1949	Boston Braves vs. Brooklyn Dodgers - Braves Field

	It is in mint shape. One page has a very small rip but thats all.

	He wants to know how much it is worth. Is there a book or price
	listing for these types of things?

	Thanks in advance.

       You might try calling Ken Gloss at the Brattle Book Store in Boston.
