166.0. "Mail-order baseball/sports card dealers' addresses" by AISG::DRAGER (The VAX that never stops...) Wed Aug 15 1990 21:08

Hello,

As a kid/teenager, I used to buy plastic sheets, complete sets, et al
through mail-order card dealers, viz. Renata Galasso. This year, the
temptation to buy a single pack of Topps baseball cards has prompted me to
collect nearly the entire set (I need about 60-70 more cards). Once again
I am in need of more plastic sheets, but unfortunately the addresses to the
mail-order dealers I dealt with were lost several years ago along with my
fading interest.

Does anyone have addresses to any mail-order card dealers and, if so,
could you please post them in this conference or MAIL them to me (AISG::DRAGER)?
Also, any opinions of certain mail-order dealers or tips on dealing with them
would be appreciated.

Moderator - please feel free to move this note
if there is a more appropriate location.

     Thanks in advance...

    Mark,

Your best bet may be to pick up a copy of Sports Collector's Digest.
It contains all kinds of mail-order dealers names and numbers. Should
be available at a card shop or newsstand near you.

Good advice John. Remember this also. If you feel slighted by a mail
order house and suspect there is mail fraud involved, contact the US
Postal Service. Believe it or not they do a pretty good job of jumping
on fraudulent mail order houses, if there are enough complaints agianst
    a particular company.

Always keep a copy of what you ordered, the prices and conditions
quoted and the method of payment. If you used your charge card go back
to the charge card company and ask for their assistance. They may be
able to help you as well.

    Happy hunting!
