Roy,when these cards hit the Dealers about 4 weeks ago, they said
Proset will not be giving them anymore because of the ERRORS.
John was right about the numbers being different colors. Roy I'm
    sorry that your disappointed,but I had a question,and I wanted to get
some answers from some of the serious collectors that we have
    out there.

Card #22 Super Bowl XXII, Jan 31 1989,should be 1988.

Card #23 Super Bowl XXIII Jan 22 1989.

Alot of the Rookie cards don't have the teams name that their

Why don't the card companies hire the same dudes from SCD to look for
errors before they print up all these cards, and then they won't have
all these error problems. This is definitely a marketing tool to sell
and introduce each companies new card product each year, and the first
run of printed cards are loaded with errors, they all do it, and the
collectors are still falling for it. What a shame. When are you
people going to wake up and smell the roses.

Quick question, I opened a box last night and got a card that
didn't belong anywhere. It's a superbowl XXIV card with no number on
it. It's NOT card 24 in the regular set or the Collectable set, I also
have both of those. Has anyone else gotten this card or know what it is.

Went to the BB cardshow at the Sheraton in Andover yesterday. A
gentleman walks in and starts talking to the man that runs the show
if he is interested in any Jeff George cards. Needless to say he
trades a Payne Stewart card for one. All the time I'm watching this
guy and he has a black box in his hand with ear phones and he says
to the guy do you have any Pro Set boxes. The dealer does not have
any but one of his buddies does and this man say to him if this
hand held metal detector goes off while scanning any of the boxes
he will purchase the box for $36 twice ths sale price. Can you believe
the extremes people will go thru for the Lombardi card that I guess
has metal in it. The man then proceded to go to every table and
    scan the Pro Set boxes.

Did anybody hear about the Vince Lombardi Trophy Card that Pro Set
has for 1990. It's seems as though they only printed 100 of them.
They where suppose to be distrubuted 1 in every 60 boxes, and are
    selling for $500. There numbered (1 of 100, 2 of 100...).

Also card #338 doesn't exist. Pro set never printed a number 338.

I think that Beckett's in error. For all that it is cracked up to
be, I hate this set. I buy a pack all I get is stars and none of the
commons that I need. Way over rated I think. Maybe people are excited
over the mix. I get p___ed everytime I see another Sanders card when
I have the damned things piled to the ceiling and can't find the hundred
commons I need. I will keep them of course, but I would like to finish
a set w/o having to buy 6 boxes. To top it off they are getting ready
to Issue the 2nd series already....and that is another story.Talk

4, count'em 4 Payne Stewart cards all in a row. And this pack actually

Does anybody know what the Payne Stewart card is worth? Is it bringing
the same cash value as the Tagliabue card? Are they as rare?

I purchased two boxes over the weekend (1 for $18 and 1 for $13). The
first box had three (3) Tagliabue cards valued at $12 apiece. 8^)

My very first box (some two monthes ago) had two (2) Payne Stewart card
    and I haven't seen any since. 8^(

Bob, I'll buy that Lombardi Trophy from ya... If your not selling, I'll
take two (2) from your friend, tell him I'll give him $.75 8^). Where

I haven't seen these variations list in SCD yet.
The following cards have the same variation.

One card has a stripe on the bottom right, one Doesn't.

		Card #19 Andre Ware
		Card #20 Mohammed Elewonbi
		Card #21 Percy Snow
		Card #22 Anthony Thompson

It seems that the first twenty or so cards could have this variation.

    Mike,

Every Saturday morning at 8:00 at CM's dugout in Amherst NH they let
you open 18-20 packs of cards (the cards vary from week to week) and
purchase whatever cards you would like for a quarter. Whatever cards
are left are put on the table for pickings over the next week with the
price declining with each day....15 cents on Sunday, 10 on Monday, 7 on
Tuesday, 5 on Wed., 3 on Thursday and 2 cents on Friday....It is
obviously a good deal to get some great cards cheap (if you are lucky)
and fill sets later in the week for only a few cents a card....

It seems alot of cards shops are catching on to this way of getting
customers....Usually there are about 50 people who show up on
    Saturday...

on to say that dealers can detect whether a box has this card by
using a metal detector which senses something on this special card.

I ran across a vendor this weekend that had a couple of boxes of
the new SERIES II, they are wrapped in yellow plastic packs. I was totally
pleased with the contents:

The set starts at #379 thru #798 it has 24 Collectible cards of the
MVP's of each of the 24 Collectible SUPER BOWL cards from SERIES I. They
are artist's scetches of the players in uniform. Bart Starr, Len Dawson
Larry Csonka, Franco Harris,Lynn Swann, and many more.. really well done set.

There is a NATIONAL LEAGUE PRO-BOWL series that continues right after
the AMERICAN LEAGUE set of SERIES I starting at #379 thru #426.

#669 thru #724 are First and Second Round Draft . Jeff George, BLair Thomas
etc.

I bought some more packs, over the weekend, and got a nice surprise
from the second pack that I opened.
Looks like they are inserting a collectible card into some of the
packs I found me a SANTA CLAUS . HEAD COACH 1990.
I had read something in the Becketts football guide about Santa
coming to town, but never expected to get one. I wonder how many got issued.

It has a cartoon SANTA wearing a NFL PRO SET hat, and he is placing cards
on a Christmas tree, in his hand you can see some cards and on top is a
Montana. On the tree there is a Brett HULL hockey, a M.C Hammer and a few
other assorted cards that I cant make out. On the back of the card is a poem
PRO SET's version of 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEORE CHRISTMAS.

From what I had heard there was a big issue that arose from last years
Santa Claus collectible, it seems that they were sent out in Christmas cards
to the dealers only and those that didn't want to save them were trying to
"HAWK" them for top dollar. None were issued in packs to the general public.

Well, I thought I had a PROSET SANDERS Promo card, but yesterday
I ran into Mike Kelly, and he told me that the difference is this:
in the Promo card, the postage size picture on the reverse of the
card shows SANDERS holding the trophy over his head, and the regular
card just shows a regular picture of SANDERS. Mike also told me that
PROSET would just send you the regular card when you send them your
name and address. I was under the impression that PROSET was going
to send me a PROMO card, so when I went home and checked what I had,
it was just the regular card. Needless to say, I was disappointed.
Thank you Mike for the correct information. I can't believe that
no one else that reads this Notesfile knew the difference, or
didn't want to take the time to enlighten us.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but there were only(?) 10,000 made. Aren't
they also hand numbered.

There are only 5000 hand numbered Stanley Cup (Pro-Set Hockey) Hologram cards...
Becketts has these listed for around $200-400

I'm still waiting to get my 1990 Proset Update set, but yesterday
in the mail I did get two cards from Proset. They look to be
promo cards for their 1991 cards, and if you liked how the cards
eliminated the side borders, then you will love these cards. The
pictures take up the whole card! No borders whatsoever. The two
cards I got were of their 1990 Rookie Of The Year for offense
(Emmit Smith) and defense (Mark Carrier). They did have two color
bars at the bottom on which was the name of the player and such.
And in the upper left corner was the Pro Set logo. The color is
sharp and clear, and the cards really catch your eye. Can't wait
	for the new set!

I bought a 1990 Final Update set, and opened it, and I found that

so if many of you who bought them are assuming that everything

I picked up a few packs at the flea market Sunday. They're kinda like
