I'm looking for a Bo Jackson rookie card (Baseball). I went to a
dealer the other nite and he wanted $13.00 for a TOPPS,Is this
    a fair price,or can I do better ? I'm trying to start a collection
    on all Bo cards,Football,and Baseball.

                                           John

    Which card?

If you have year, make and number it can be looked up in any of several
    price guides.

From the 1986 Donrus Rookies Set #38 $11.00
From the 1986 Topps Update Set #50 $10.00

    From the 1987 Donrus set RR#35 $7.00
    From the 1987 Fleer set #369 $15.00
From the 1987 topps set (future star)#170 $3.70

Dealers may charge up to 25% more than these prices. Therefore if it
was an '86 Topps update you were offered at 13.00 thats 30% above list.
I personally would look for the card mail-order @ $10.00 and pay the
    postage.

Be sure that any Bo card you buy is perfect.
These cards in quantities of 50-100 can be picked up mail order at
    lesser prices per card.

Roy, you've hurt my feelings 8^). I was very carefull to scatter Bo
card #'s and prices in my written history of Classic Cards.

    Picky, picky, picky.

I like the BooBoo Card that shows him in shoulder pads holding out a
bat. The guy is amazing!! The way he breaks bats over his knee. If I
ever tryed that, I would end up with two pieces of my leg in my hands
instead of the bat. I do wish he would stick with just baseball. He
can really crunch those homers when he gets a hold of it.

This is not investment counseling. The origional question came from a
wish to get all Bo football and baseball cards. What the list shows is
Get em now if you want them. As long as Bo continues to excell in two
major league sports his cards will escalate.

If you guys can get the '90 Score B/W Bo for $5-$6, I'll
take all you can get. This is a very serious deal.
    Please respond to CSC32::G_GEIGER.
    Thanks in advance.

Here's a thought.....as little as it may be.

Let's start using "Limited Production" rather than "SCARCE"
It seems to be a more defining term.
Not that I'm advocating that everything is in limited production.

Assuming it is a 1990 Donruss DK#1 It is listed at .40, A dealer would
probably ask up to a dollar, Offer to buy for maybe .05.

Keep the card, but don't buy a $2.00 plastic case for it.

I just bought a Bo Jackson (Foot Locker) card for $5.00,did I get
ripped off or is that the going price. I guess this is what happens
when you concetrate on one player. The person that sold it to
me said that he thinks the date is 1987. The card has Bo wearing a
basketball jersey, and it reds (Foot Locker Slam Fest).

It's really too bad. As you said, he had loads of potential for
    baseball.

I guess it's too late to cash in on my hundreds of rookie cards, eh?

    8^)

Seriously, I do feel bad for him, and hope he can recover. He's a
hardcore athlete, so I wouldn't count him out.
