Tried feeding that stuff to the ducks here at TTB and even they
didn't like it. I'll bet Mother's Cookies are at least edible.

Yes, the mother's cookies cards are at every show. In my area, S.F.
Giants and Oakland A's are common and plentiful. The price varies
depending on year, but range between $10.00 and $20.00, usually.

A while ago, you could get a free card when you bought a bag of
cookies. The three choices were Clark, McGuire, and Canseco. There
were four different cards for each player. I got three of the four
Clark cards before they discontinued the promotion. Anything that
has to do with the A's or the Giants goes for way over book here.
For example, a guy wanted to charge me .50 cents each for 1987 commons,
because they were giants. Will Clarks Fleer rookie is selling for
$15.00, and moving briskly. I imagine it must be similar for other
cities with repect to home town heroes.

Mother's Cookies is starting a national promotion sometime in March.
They are issuing a set of four different Nolan Ryan cards, and they
will be distributed as inserts in retail cookie bags. One card in each
bag, using four different varieties of cookies.

I prefer the chocolate chip myself.

Like most West Coast teams, the Giants have a Mothers Cookies team set
giveaway every year. The first 25,000 or so fans get a set, and I look
forward to the game because I like the cards very much.

This year it was announced that only fans 14 or younger would be
allowed to participate in the promotion. "What?" you say, "that's not
fair!" you cry, and I agree. I want the cards as much as the little
ones, and I've been barred from the deal just because I'm all grown up.

Well, it seems that there's just a *little* more to this exclusion than
those of use here thought. Corey Bush, a V.P. type with the Giants
front office got enough phone calls to prompt him to give an
explanation to the local media. It seems that dealers were buying
fistfulls of tickets and showing up early, just so they could go
through the turnstiles again and again snagging as many sets as they
could for later resale, all the while cheating the fans out of a nice
set of cards. Corey explained that by limiting it to 14 year olds or
younger, he hoped to regain the integrity of the giveaway. Well, it's a
nice thought, but I still have to deal with the "snakes" to get my set.

The dealers strike again, ever viligant lest they be accused of dealing
honestly and fairly with the general public.

Mother's Cookies is issueing a second edition of their Nolan Ryan
cards. Same deal as last year, one card to a bag of cookies, four cards
to a set. The difference this year is that they've included a mail
order way to aquire the set. For four proofs of purchase and $7.95, you
can receive a four card uncut strip of the set. Pretty cool!

My check is in the mail.

I don't know is this is a regional set, but I imagine that it's not.
You people should be seeing the same offer on you cookies, too. If
you're not, I can post the address and requirements to receive the card
    strip.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

BTW, these are *very* scarce, and are guaranteed to go up in value
    rapidly!! ;^) Don't miss out!

Actually, I thought Mother's distributed out there. How'd your friend
get his Nolan set last year? I thought it was from bags of cookies.

Oh, well, so sorry. It's too bad, though. It's a *really* nice set!
