67.0. "Ballplayers & Broadcasters" by WLDWST::DRAKE () Mon May 22 1989 15:31

I'm trying to compile a list of ball players-turned-broadcasters.
Any help? I'm not familiar with most of them, although I do have
    a few.

What about Elroy "Butterfingers" McClanahan of the '16 Philadelphia
Athletics. As you all know, he was the first man to broadcast
baseball games to the doughboys across the pond via morse code in
1918. Who could ever forget his memorable broadcast call of baseball's
    only quadruple play. "...He's out...He's out...He's out...He's
out! Wait that was four outs!...HOLY COW!"

Besides, the conference has been kinda thin on subject matter and
it's nice to see a discussion going again, for whatever reason.

I agree with John D. Even though I'm not that heavy a contributor,
this note file has become an advertisement to Mike Kelly- not that
    that's all bad.

It's good to see some different discussions.

Man! I gotta long way to go if I wanna complete broadcaster collection
, you guys are amazing. I had no idea so many ball players were
microphone hogs! I've printed out the lists-I just have to keep
it to my self though if I want my wife to talk to me for the rest
of my life! I started out with Garagiola, Kubek, Murcer(75 mini),
Tony conigliaro and the Mick. I'm out of pages.
Any body got a cheap/worn out Ueker card? I don't want a perfect
    one, they're tooooo expensive.

Speaking of expensive, here is some sports memorabila for sale in
