22.0. "Coins In General" by BPOV09::JOSEPH () Mon Nov 30 1987 17:47

    I just heard this week end and I don't know how true it is but TOPPs
    had to do a recall on there coin packs because the gum was touching
    the metal on the coin. I heard this from a local dealer who had
    an open box in front of him so it could still be B.S.

    I want to know more about the Rotman story I'm still waiting for
    mine and I talked to them today. They said they were waiting for
    tubes to ship them in has anyone heard anything different? I was
    also told by a local dealer that R's limited their customers to
    1 set per starting in mid oct.

    I have seem coins in the local shops for up to and over $3 for
    people like Davis. and 15-25 cents for commons. I think they look
    sharp and the set (like a lot of the limited set this year) is packed
    with stars I like to collect. Any other comments?

    Pretty interesting story about the gum Jody. You never know, it
    could be true !!! Hey, all I know is that the sugar "dust" makes
    a real mess. You guys should of seen the bag of gum I had after
    I opened up a hole box of coins ... I was gonna offer it as the
    next baseball card trivia grand prise !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ps. but Ed "Mr. Trivia" Norris would probably send me the dentist
         bill !!!

    Yeah! Go get them Roy! Chew their heads off!

    Re. The dentist bill. I wouldn't do that Tony, I'd just ask for
    the amount John Hancock stiffed the dentist and forced me to pay
    :-)

22.6It's worth the waitBPOV09::JOSEPHTue Dec 01 1987 12:458
    re .3

    I ordered my 87 topps sets from them in feb of this year and they
    didn't call me until may but the price was still 12.99 so it was
    worth the wait.

    So you may wait but they still give you the price quoted. You can't
    say the same for most dealers.
22.7I agree service really stinksBPOV09::JOSEPHTue Jan 05 1988 16:454
    This order is in but they are also taking orders for 88 sets.
    TOPPs $17.99.
