496.0. "Silver Surfer" by CSCOAC::MARSHALL_J () Tue Jul 31 1990 20:45

I'm a very big comic book fan, and last night after finishing the
lastest issue of Silver Surfer I read that they are going to make a
Nintendo game pak featuring Silver Surfer. I was wondering if anybody
has heard anything through the grapevine about this game. I know I'll
be one of the first in line to buy this one.....Silver Surfer is
incredible on the page...I can't wait to see him on the screen.

                                                     Thanks-

                                                            Jase

    Yes,

My information has it listed and is made by Arcadia but there is no
price or release date as of yet. If I get more information I'll pass
    it along.

Rumor has it that it will be available in mid November. In any case
    it shouldn't be long now...

I rented it this weekend for my son. I even got to play it a few
times. I thought it was a fairly simple game although it did take
quite a bit of coordination. You can do well if you maintain tight
control of the movement and have lots of endurance in your "fire"
finger. My son really liked it. The graphics weren't bad either.
After about and hour the simplest of the opponents was defeated but
the rest were a little tougher. We never did fully finish any of the
others. There is a password option but as we didn't know any passwords
we couldn't try this out. My son liked it enough to want to buy it.
That's something for him as I've owed him a game since September and
he hasn't tried one he liked well enough for me to buy.

When I bought my Nintendo system, about a month ago, this was the first
game that I bought. It sounded like it would be pretty fun. The
graphics and music are well done. The game play itself frustrates me
beyond my limits. It's as if you are started out on the advanced
level. I'll assume that the easiest level referred to in the previous
reply is either Reptyl's world or The Possessor's. I have yet to
finish either of these entirely, but they are the one's that I've
gotten the furthest on. In the instructions they say that Reptyl's
world or Mephisto's should be done first. Mephisto's world, IMHO, is
ridiculous. You're attacked repeatedly in numbers and your hits don't
always kill the first time. There is a password level in this game.
However, it tells you to watch Nintendo magazine for it. I'm not an
expert at video games, but I do enjoy them. As long as the game starts
at a beginners level and advances as play goes on I'm happy with it.
Silver Surfer hasn't been as enjoyable as I'd hoped (but I haven't
given up yet). I think this would be an enjoyable game for Nintendo
pros more than for beginners like me.

496.6How Do You Use The Password???SWAM1::FERCHAK_DATWILIGHT ZONE RESIDENTTue Aug 27 1991 17:166
Hopefully someone will notice this new reply/question that I'm adding
on here. I have a question to any knowing individual in the Nintendo
file. What is the password needed for Silver Surfer and where/when do
you put it in or use it? (Okay, I had more than one question)
