123.0. "Legendary Wings" by BEING::POSTPISCHIL (Always mount a scratch monkey.) Tue Aug 30 1988 12:22

Legendary Wings is out. Lechmere has it. The graphics look good, but
it looks like it might be more action and less strategy, which is not
    my type of game.

If anybody gets it, please let us know how the game plays.

The graphics are good. It's a vertical scrolling shoot and
bomb game, with flying and stationary ground targets. So far,
after the first stage, you arrive at a 'face' with open mouth
which sends out whirlwinds at you, which, if they catch you,
take you into a horizontal stage with shooting but no bombs.
At the end of the horizontal stage, you are then returned to
just after the face, to continue in vertical scrolling mode.
If you had been able to evade the whirlwinds, you can continue
in vertical. There are various weapons upgrades possible by
hitting certain targets, but a hit on you reduces your weapons
class by one for each hit. Hitting certain ground targets
produces a bonus whirlwind, which if caught, takes you to a
cavern with no enemies, only bonus points, extra lives and
weapons upgrades. Complete the first vertical section to the
end, and you face a very vicious dragon (fireballs and it dives
at you!) Kill him (spectacular) and you enter a palace with new
and exciting monsters to kill - it may be possible to get
around this palace, but that's as far as we've got so far.

Bottom line: (*OPINION*) Good overall, but tricky to pick up
the rhythm and pattern of shooting vs bombing to get through
safely, which makes it more fun/challenging. Bit like GRADIUS,
but feels much more 'do-able'. I like it.
123.2How do you continue??MCIS2::BERNIERWed Sep 27 1989 03:1913

    	Hi,

My brother has this game and can't seem to get the game to continue
after he dies. He is at stage two and he tries to use the continue
sequence in the book but it will not work for him. How does
this game continue after you die?????

    	Thanks in advance

    	Wayne.
