I have the Nintendo Entertainment System and can provide comparisons
between that and the Sega Master System and the Commodore 128. I got
the gun and robot accessories, but sold the gun. I've got 26 games
now. Rather than list them, I'll start a topic soon for rating the
games, so we'll have that information in one place.

3rd shift Computer Operator at OGO in Stow, Mass.

I just recently purchased the BASIC Nintendo system (just the game
    with none of the frills).

The only 2 cartridges I have, or have played are:

Super Mario Brothers - Still haven't made it past 8-3!

Castlevania	- Only gotten as far as Frankenstein and Igor.
2.3CRISIS::OCONNORPlate of ShrimpWed Oct 21 1987 12:4017

My name is Michael O'Connor and I'm a Software Engineer in
Merrimack with the Image Processing Group.

I have the "whole nine yards" system. That is to say, the
gun and the robot. Duck Hunt and Gyromite came with the
system. I have bought Super Mario, Kung Fu, Zelda, Ghosts
	n' Goblins, and Kid Icarus.

I enjoyed Zelda immensely, making it through twice. Ghosts
n' Goblins was a major disappointment, mainly because I couldn't
make it past the second "world." Kid Icarus is very well done
but I'm having problems making it through World 1-3. Persistence
	will pay off.

2.4Introduction of meMTV::SWARTZWed Oct 21 1987 13:1523
My name is Steve Swartz and I take up space in the ICO facility.
In reality, I am a consultant in the Field Manufacturing
        Information Center.

I have the "basic" system figuring there is to much violence
in the world today, so why buy a gun. My kid has enough toys
and since he is only 4, I figured he think it was a glorified
transformer or gobot and promtly try to disassemble it.

My accessories consist of the basic system and my trusty bottle
        of valium.

My games are Super Mario (came with set), Zelda (third time
from scratch), Golf and Metroid (yes Mike I did break down and
buy it). Have tried with little success Castlevania, Kid Icaris
        and Ghosts 'n Goblins.

I can answer questions on Zelda as I was 3/4 of the way thru
level 9 2nd pass before I kicked the system and popped the
        cartridge.

        Enjoy

2.5I'm here, I thinkMOMAX1::PILOTTEIt just keeps getting better!Wed Oct 21 1987 13:3728

Oh you mean it's my turn......

Well my name is Mark Pilotte and I reside at the Westford Facility.

Thanks to Steve Swartz, I've developed this strange sickness to plop
myself in front of a TV screen and move a silly guy all over the
place trying to get to different worlds.

I scoffed my system from my sister-in-law. She just had it collecting
dust and I couldn't see letting it just rot. I have the gun also,
but the robot was destroyed (probably due to frustration)

The games that I have are Metroid, Golf, Legend of Zelda, Excitebike,
Gyromite, Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, & Hogans Alley.

Being new to this System, I figured what better way to learn more
about it than by having a Conference dedicated to Nintendo. Thus
the reason why I started one.

So pass the word along to all your friends and lets get this conference
rolling. If anything we can at least use it to comfort each other
during our times of mental breakdowns.

looks like its time to bring out the old fake bricks...

I own both the Nintendo game (w/gun,robot) and the Atari 7800, and
soon will pick up the Sega system as well. I have finished Ghosts
and Goblins, but didn't find Zelda too exciting...

I'm really looking for the developer's kit to start writing my own
    cartridges!

Let me be the first to thank Mark for starting this conference because
it will be much easier to get info this way.

My whole family is hooked on Nintendo...although my wife will only
watch but not play. And she loves watchin' us.

I have the following for games:

Hi, I'm Jeff Dickens and I'm a videoholic.

    8^}

Anyway, our house has a Nintendo system, without the gun or robot,
and we have Super Mario Bros., Excite-bike, Mach Rider, Golf, Slalom
    skiing, and of course Zelda.

I am a veteran of level 8-1 in Mario Bros., and have been pounding
away at level 8-2 off and on for about 6 months without luck.

Currently everyone I know is stuck in level 7 in Zelda. One person
has even finished 8 but can't get 7. Obviously some of you have
figured this out, but I'm not looking for a giveaway, just a clever
hint. Yah, I know, the secret is in the tip of the nose, but I
    can't get there either !

    Hi-
I am placing a note in the system for my son, Shawn. He has
a Nintendo with the gun and robot altho I think the robot is a waste
of money. At present he has over 50 cartridges including Super
Mario Brothers, Zelda, Kid Icarus,Metroid, Gradius,Castelevania
and the new one (at least for Seattle) Sqooba(?)....it is the one
that is a submarine. Obviously, you can tell this kid is hooked
and is the only stuff he really plays with. If you don't mind,
I will "monitor" the system and I will take information home for
his use....I have been doing that on the Games note.
I don't play much but have enjoyed the "spoilers" since it give
me an opportunity to look like I know something BEFORE Shawn.....he
    is 7!

          Hi,
I'm Dick Tucker and like some of you I got the 9 YDS
                for xmas from my wife.

I have Duck Hunt,Hogans Ally (sp?) and Gyromite.
I play duck hunt alot and the best i've done so far
is round 32 with 1.3M points, using the single duck game.
My wife and I play gyromite without the robbot and find
it a good game to play.I would like to get a lot more
                games than what i have.

I'm glad to see this note

    Hi!

My name is Pat. I am also a Nintendo owner. I currently have two
games, Super Mario Bros. (came with it) and Kid Icarus.

I've been a fan of Super Mario Bros. since it came out in the arcade,
and when I finnaly heard about the home version I just HAD to get
it. I have won the game a million times using the "Unlimmited" guy
technique (If you don't know about it I will tell you later).

Kid Icarus is a great game! I haven't won yet, but I, just yesterday,
made it to the Skyworld Fortress.

My name is Eric Eckstrom. I'm in Software Service (Chicago). I broke
down this last weekend and bought the basic Nintendo system. Only
game so far is Super Mario Bros. (it came with the system). Got
interested from reading the notes on the system in the GAMES
conference. Now I know what you guys are talking about!

BTW: Do you guys get any complaints from your wives about being
    ignored?? :-)

Actually the oldest one (10 yrs) is the real expert in the house.

	We have the following games:

-- Duck Hunt: came with the system
-- Gyromite: came with the system
-- Super Mario Bros.: first real good game we got
-- Donkey Kong III: just so-so
		-- Kung Fu: kid's choice
		-- Excite Bike: kid's choice
		-- Mach Rider: kid's choice
-- Baseball: the only one where I can beat him, very good
-- Track and field: I like this one, 10 different events.
-- Double Dribble: Very Good. 5 on 5. Plays national anthem,
		   half time show etc.
-- Legend of Zelda: excellent, latest acquisition.

2.18Hi!29805::SIMONHow can we know the dancer from the dance?Mon Nov 16 1987 10:5938
After spending several months reading about all teh fun everyone
was having, I did some impulse buying on Saturday and got the basic
NES and three cartridges (well, gee, it's *almost* Xmas, isn't it?)

    Games so far:

-Super Mario Bros. Looks like it could be fun, but I've only
sampled it so far. I'm not generally that good at hard-core action
games like this. BTW, where do they get the ideas for the "scenarios"
that accompany the games? I mean, enslaved mushroom people with
a super-janitor as their rescuer?!? There must have some guy locked
    in a closet who's been fed intravenous LSD for the last 20 years;
when they want a new game idea, they ask him what he dreamt the
    night before.

-Legend of Zelda. Very addicting. Excelent adventure. So far
I've only made it through Level 1, but I've found the entrance to
Level 3. The save/restore feature is excellent.

-Metroid. This is the game I've played the most. I started after
taking a break from Zelda, and got into the "well, just one more
try" syndrome. I'm very impressed with the complexity of the game.
    Lots to explore.

-Ghost 'N' Goblins. I've only played this a little. Looks very
    good, though.

I must say that all the reviews of games I've read here and in GAMES
have been very accurate and useful in helping me choose cartridges.

    -Rich

P.S. Oh, almost forgot: My name's Rich Simon. I'm a principal software
engineer in Littleton, MA. I often make an appearance in the MOVIES
    notesfile, too.

    	Hi,

My name is Andy Simon. I live and work in Augusta, Maine. I
bought the basic system but was given the Deluxe set by mistake.
I am back to the basic system thanks to the advertisement section
    of this notes file.

I started video games with "Pong" and have kept up ever since.
I started playing adventure style games on a PDP-8, graduated to
a DEC-10 system, and am now strictly Vax. I also had a Commadore
64 until I ran out of games. Maine has very long winters...

So far I have completed Zelda and Metroid. I am half way through
Kid Icaris and have Gradious, Castlevania, and Ghostes&Goblins waiting
in the wings. You may hear from me now and then in this and other
games notes files ( Larn, Hack, ZK, Moria, Games, Rogue, Dungeons,
etc...). Let it snow, I'm ready !!!

Hi; I'm Dave Clark ... I work at MKO in Merrimack NH.

I don't have a Nintendo just yet, but I'm considering buying one.
I'm also an ex-Atari owner (think I saw someone else say that) ...
I had a 5200, but got frustrated by the lack of new games, as well
as the quality of the joysticks supplied ....

I've heard that Arkanoid is now available for the Nintendo. OK,
so it's a twist on "Breakout," but gad I love the game. I am now
thoroughly addicted to Arkanoid II, "the Revenge of Doh," which
can be seen at your local video game parlor (what's THAT? :-).

Some of you might remember me from the games notes file. I have
not entered a note since the creation of the Nintendo notes file,
I haven't had the time. BUT, I'm back. I threw my wife out of the
house, found where she hid my nintendo set and have started playing
again. (just kidding) I think I went through a depression after
completing ZELDA and didn't play for about a month. But I have bought
4 new games and the NES advantage and I'm ready to play.

My name is Mark Pfoff and I work in the CSC in Colorado Springs.
I don't know of anyone out here that even has a nintendo set. I
am up to 16 games and have had a nintendo system for over 2 years.

Some of the games I have are:

    Hi,

I'm Phil and since I saw my nephew's Christmas present of the basic
system with Super Mario Brothers and Ku Foo, I decided to get one
myself. It took a dozen calls but I just found the basic system
at the TOY R US in Manchester N.H. next to the Mall of N.H.
They only had four systems left and little to no games.
So all I have is Super Mario Brothers which I like and now I'm in

    Having fun now!!

Okay! You guys sold me... I convinced my wife to buy me NES for
Christmas.. After searching through all of the stores from Lowell
to Westboro she was able to find one before Christmas.. Now that
I have it, she wants to bring it back (someone else mentioned his
wife was complaining about being ignored..). Whew, and she thought
    my watching football was bad!!!!
My name is Brian Charron and I work in Marlboro, Mass. with the
Standard Linear Products engineering group. I have the basic system
with Super Mario Brothers. I also have Double Dribble and Section
    Z. I have opened a topic on Section Z, but have gotten no replies..
Does anyone else have this game??? It's an excellent game and I
could use some help with it! I also have an Atari 2600 but, after
playing Nintendo, I think it is enroute to the circular file..

Hello Folks, My name is Keith Comeford. I work at Spitbrook Road on Graphics
products (GKS and PHIGS in Particular). My wife got me the NES for Christmas.
Its wonderful. I also have an Atari 5200 with about 1/2 a dozen cartridges
(Defender, Pacman, Missile Command, Star raiders and a couple others). The NES
only has Super Mario brothers (I got the base system), but I've already spent
several hours with it. I can't wait to get either Top Gun or Legend of
Zelda.

I am Ron Miller and work in Stow at the CSSE Program Office. Now in my
20th year with DEC.

Over the past several years I have been reconditioning, enjoying and
accumulating real arcade games. This started with one pinball but latest
count is 12 various machines (this from a high of around 16).
I also run/moderate the CSSE::COINOP conference (KP7) for "Commercial" games.

My wife and son think they live in an arcade. (Something about men and boys
and the size of toys????).

My wife and son got me the Nintendo unit for Xmas this year (I had strongly
hinted that I "Really" wanted to get Super Mario Brothers and that the
NES would save room compared to the stand-up Arcade version). Currently
have SMB, Araknoid, Donkey Kong 3, and Zelda. I expect the NES to be
primarilly for "Arcade Classics".

Other game systems include a 48K Atari/Disk system, and a Vectrex (not to
mention the DEC owned Rainbow..).

Always looking for "True" adaptations of Arcade games

Greetings from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke, VA!

I am Tim Smith, a Software Spec at the ROV office, and

My son, Jeff, is the NES expert of our household and
frequently enjoys kicking his `ol man's butt at these

with interactive head-to-head with another human on the

and he would be happy to offer his advice (and gloat |;-o
about his accomplishments) on the games listed below:

	Game Level / Score Reached
	-----------------	-------------------------------
	Double Dribble 2 / 60 to 29
SMB (of course) 8-4 (saved princess twice in 1 sitting)
	Punch Out Mr. Sandman
	Ghosts & Gobs. 3
	Zelda 9
	Rad Racer 2
Kung Fu 5 (saved girl twice in one sit)
	Comando 2-2
Pro Wrestling Only held Champion title once
	Pinball 79,850
Tiger Heli Working towards 5th Heliport
	Donkey Kong Jr 5
	Urban Champ Round 30
Karate Champ All rounds twice in 1 sit
	Muscle 16th round
Rygar Just a rookie at it now
	Top Gun Mission 3 / 40,200
	Ninja Kid 6
10-Yard Fight Super Bowl against the CPU... just
				a Bench-warmer against the `ol man.

     Hi,

Talk about addicting, my son recieved the deluxe system for Christmas,
got the gun and ROB. We immediately went out and got ZELDA. What
a mistake that was, all other games are now somewhat dissappointing
in comparison. The TV set was off less than 6 hours/day during Xmas
vaction. He (my son- he's 17) is on level 5 on the second time thru
ZELDA, I'm at level 9 on the first time thru. Obviously ZELDA is
taking most of our time, althogh we have played a lot of TOP-GUN
and 1942. I did manage to get to level 31 on DUCK HUNT, of course
my son had to do one better and get to level 32.
I've heard alot of bad press about ROB and GYROMITE but I must
say I find them very entertaining. I believe a game should offer
a challenge and waiting patiently for that stupid ROBOT is defineately
that. If you sit there and really think about what is happening
you will find that ROB is really quite remarkable. Enough for now,
I need to move on to the note with ZELDA hints.

    Greetings from Germany
    ----------------------
My name is Joerg and I am working in SW Licensing.
Nintendo is almost not known here in Germany. They started off at
christmas offering the basic system and about six different games.
One comes with the system: Ice Climber. The other one I have bought
is Soccer. Ice Climber is fun, Soccer I do not rate very high.
Based on your comments here in the notes file I have ordered Super
Mario Brothers and I am really looking forward to it.
Most of the others you have mentioned here are not yet available
    in Germany.
    Prices are still very high:
    Basic system: Deutschmark(DM) 298.00 (1 DM = 0.6$)
    1 game DM 69.00
One reason for the high price might be that they have to provide
special European versions (due to our different TV - color - system:
PAL vs. NSTC(?) in USA) combined with low volume sales.
Colleagues in Japan/USA: Any chance to get European versions directly
from you - or is the only difference the translated user instructions??

Yeah, hi. I'm Dave, and I don't work at digital (I might, but

it's pretty nice, anyway, I login alot, and I love the notes files.
I saw this one and I got right away.

I have a basic Nin setup, and I've played alot of games. Among
them are Rygar, Zelda, Solomon's Key, SMB, breakthru, Mike Tyson's
Punch-Out!!!, Top Gun, Ninja Kid, Soccer, Athena, Rad Racer, Metroid,
Urban Champion, Elevator Action, Kid Icarus, WorldRunner, Kung Fu,
Commando, and it goes on and on. One second, here. I don't OWN all
these games, but I trade mine with my friends temporarily (a week
or two, long enough to beat it.)

I have this great magazine I get from Nintendo, the Nintendo
Fun Club magazine. It is filled with tons of game reviews, Ads for
ONLY Nintendo games, Tips and Tricks section, mail bag, and new
products section-I bet you didn't know that you can buy a new
controller with a 360 degree cyloid control button and turbos!
To get it, (It's free!) send a request to:

I have long enjoyed playing video games. I currently own the Nintendo
Entertainment System, the old and discontinued Atari 5200, and a
Commodore 64. I used to own an Atari 800 (anyone remember those?).
I currently own about 10 NES games including Golf, 1942, Zelda,
Tiger-Heli, Ikari Warriors, Super Mario Bros., Top Gun, Section
Z, and Super Pitfall. I do not know their nationwide policy but
the local (Atlanta, GA) Toys R' Us has a 90 day return policy on
computer software. It is a great place to buy and try NES cartidges
with little risk. I have browsed the notes in this file and have
found it a valuable resource for NES information. I look forward
to contributing my 2 or 3 cents worth.

About time for me to sign in. I have been playing video games since
PONG came out ages ago and now I have finally found a home system
that is decent enough! I'd buy the arcade type but I think my wife
would have something to say about that, like, time to buy a house,
this condo is too small for 2 adults, a 7 year old and 2 BIG dogs
and now you want a WHAT!!!!

So I back in mid-January I went out and got the NES that
included Super Mario Brothers. As time went on I had the itch to
get more! After reading about Zelda I got that and tonight I "scored"
TOP GUN! I also got the NES Advantage joy stick, BIG difference
over the the default ones you get with the system. Next it looks
    like METROID and CASTLEVANIA.

Opps, forgot, my name is Chuck Bessant and I work in Colorado Springs
in NETSupport. Even my wife Deb is now starting to think she may
want join in! We have play GAUNTLET and have a blast together so
I think she may become a Zelda fan.

P.S. Wife just saw ALL the things I bought over the last two months
and said, "AND YOU COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY ME THE PERFUME I'VE

this game his wife made him buy another TV just for ZELDA, pretty
	soon I don't think he'll have a wife.

The notes on Zelda are the best...someone should write a book, reading

Hi, my name is John Stapleton. I just got the Nintendo "Action Set"
last night. I had bought the Atari 7800 about two weeks earlier, and
it had a defect. There was a short in the right hand plug on the
system. I came to my senses, and returned it for a credit, not
exchange, and that's when I decided on the Nintendo. I'm glad I did.
I think the Nintendo is by far the better system.

"Action Set" means it comes with the gun, and one cartridge which
contains Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt. I really like Super
Mario Brothers - Duck Hunt is sort of OK. I also bought the Baseball
cartridge mostly for my wife's interests. She likes baseball, and I
don't, but I can take it if it's a video game. From what I've read
and heard, I am looking forward to getting The Legend of Zelda.

    HI YA'LL:

Just found this notes file and glad to know there are other addicts
out there. I'm Harry Crawford. I earn my living with DEC as a Project
Manager in the Atlanta Customer Support Center. I bought the basic
Nintendo system last Christmas for my son Chris who was 7 at the
time. It came with Super Mario Bros. I now know what it feels like
to be humbled by youth. He quickly became the resident expert and
gleefully show off his prowess by thrashing his dad in any of the
games we have. However I've had my share of success these past few
months. We have purchased ZELDA and have made it all the way through
both quests. We made it through world 8-4 on both quests with SMB.
My young warrior son is trying to become the world champ on MIKE
TYSON PUNCH out having beat all the other opponents. Other games
in our startup collection are Metroid, Wizards and Warriors and
Wrecking Crew. Naturally my spouse complains of being a Nintendo
widow and I have spent my time in the dog house for keeping my son
up late on a school nite as we pursued the next level.

I haven't read past these intro's and plan know I'll find some
    interesting reading ahead.

Maybe its just me but I tried the Advantage Joystick and didn't
like it. I found it to lack the quick responsiveness I was looking
for. I ended up back with my basic controllers. If anyone has any
suggestions on a better joystick lets hear from you.

    Cheers

The only games i've played that seems to be reel fun is Super Mario

a little after U.S. with the games because we are running the european

Hi ! I'm Matt Bagdy and a proud owner of a Nintendo `Action
Set' Entertainment System. I bought it last Thursday (12-May-1988)
after having seen a friend of mine's. I was really very impressed
and just couldn't keep my bank balance above `broke'. :^) I
received the `Super Mario Brothers / Duck Hunt' oak with the set,
    and have since bought `R C Pro Am' (7/8), `Contra' (8/9), `Rambo'
(Hard to say, cause there's something I'm missing), `1942' (7),
and `Excitebike' (7). Next on the list of pak's to buy would have
    to be `Zelda', `Metroid', `World Runner 3-D' or `Gradius'. I really
enjoy the game and have since retired my Atatri to its original
box and a nice dark spot in the closet.

I work in the Burlington, VT plant as a Hardware Technician
installing System Environments for IM&T - formerly `IS'. Been with
DEC for seven years this October 5th and have been insane/paranoid

have questions on any of the games that I own, please let me know.

here in the US. How does it connect to your 'family computer'?
Does it plug into the the bottom of the game unit? Is it floppies
(or some other kind of removable media) or a hard disk?

How do you put games on the disk, or do you buy the disk with games
    on it?

You have quite a collection of games - could you tell us what
a typical game costs in Japan?

I have heard that in Japan there are cartridges that contain
4 or more (6?) games on a single cartridge and that you select
between games by using the reset button.

I'd be glad to hear any info you wish to offer.

    HI, I'm Jerry Witman.

My son, daughter and I are enjoying this note.

We/they have Gyromite - more fun when played as a team than with
    			    the robot

    		 Duck Hunt,Kid Icarus,Zelda,Metroid,Excite Bike,Worldrunner
    		 Dragon Quest,Top Gun,Wizzards & Warriors (this one
really disappointed my son as he solved it in about 3 hours. The
others didn't take him that much longer. Not too many years ago
I would frustrate him by beating him all the time, though maybe
I CHALLENGED him to beat me and now he does it soundly. He's 14.
My daughter (12) comes a close second, you know who's at the bottom
    of the totom pole.

I am a unit manager in Daytona, Florida. (Tough job, but somebody
has to do it). I've been with DEC for over 20 years. (4 digit badge).

I would sure be interested in that disk system that's been talked
about. I can be reached on ODIXIE with mail.

ZELDA - I've completed both worlds twice.
Gauntlet - Not as good as ZEDLA, but it is pretty good.
    Hockey - eh? not bad.
Super Mario Brothers - lots of fun.
Duck Hunt - I LOVE the little dog that comes up and laughs at you!
Goonies II - This one is kind of fun.
    RadRacer - pretty good.

    I can't remember the rest.

Looking forward to finding "The Adventures of Link". This one should

    ALOHA....

I guess its time to add my name to this distinguished list. I'm
Harry Crawford. I'm a Project Manager in the Atlanta Customer Support
Center. I'm known as a great lover of Hawaii and go there as often
as possible. I'm also known as a rabid deep sea sport fisherman
which is one reason why I go to Hawaii (for the blue marlin fishing
off the Kona coast of the big island).

Anyway, I go the basic system for the family last Christmas. My
son Chris, 8 years old, is the real expert on it. He took to it
like a duck to water. We currently have 12 games with RYGAR on the
    way. They are:

    Adventures of Link Hogans Alley
    Kid Icarus Megal Gear
    Metroid Mike Tysons Punch Out
    Rad Racer Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. II Wizards and Warriors
    Wrecking Crew Zelda

My son got the zapper gun as a present, hence Hogans Alley. Have
made it through all the games and anxiously awaiting for Zelda III
    and SMB III and IV.

2.109This stuff is beyond meDSSDEV::PATTJon PattWed Nov 16 1988 15:2829
Hello. I'm Jon Patt, and I'm a writer at Spit Brook. I bought
the Ninendo system some months back. (But also bought a house a few
months ago, thus my game collection is limited to Super Mario Bros.,
    Zelda, and Top Gun.)

So far, I like Top Gun the best, although I have yet to sink the
carrier at the end of the 2nd phase.

I'm usually able to go about life fairly competently, except when
it comes to video games. I guess I am missing several brain cells,
but I am totally unable to get anywhere with Zelda. I cannot
figure out what it is I am missing; the game has so far not
caught on in the least, and I don't understand what all the Zelda
    hoopla is about.

Super Mario Bros.: I was extremely embarrassed when I read how
people have made it to levels 4-8... I can't get beyond 2. I guess
it's the brain cell factor. I mean, I made it beyond level 4 in
college. I can walk and chew gum ok, too. But these games really
stump me. Did I start too late in life? What's this warp-tunnel
at the end of 1-2? I have found it, but I haven't been able to
do anything with it except time-out.

I would love to correspond with someone who's willing to share their
skill at these games with a totally feeble-brained (or
feeble-fingered?) and frustrated would-be Nintendo enthusiast.

    Thanks!
    Jon

Hi. I'm Ruth LeBlanc, a new Nintendo addict. My husband and his
best friend would play Zelda at his friend's house 'til strange
hours in the morning and I always thought they were a bit off their
rockers. But, now, since my husband bought his own Nintendo game
for our house, guess who stays up 'til strange hours in the morning??!!

So far, we've been playing only Metroid. Well, we did play with
the duck shoot for a while, but my husband, the former Marine with
a sharpshooter metal, got a little miffed when his gun-hating wife
beat him by about 100,00 points! So, we play Metroid.

Needless-to-say, the other Nintendo games are on our Christmas list!

I'm a new Nintendo owner (I've had it 4 days). I was introduced
to Nintendo on Memorial Day, I was housesitting and they had a set.
During the 4 day weekend I played over 50 hours of Mario Brothers.
I couldn't sleep at night becuase I kept seeing Mario in my mind
and singing it in my head.

I just bought the set that has the gun and comes with MArio brothers.
The gun is pretty useless it seems.

I bought the set for my husband, I knew he couldn't live without

Hi, My name is Christine Stirrup and I work in Sales Support in
    Sydney Australia.
I have a Nintendo/Mattel with Super Mario, Duck Hunt, Gyromite,
Kid Icarus, Zelda and Metroid - the last three this year's
    Christmas present.
Thank you to all those participating in this conference it makes
great reading for the novice, and its nice to know that other people
spend hours/days figuring out how to remove weird objects, get through
impossible places and collect odd items like magic mushrooms, gold
    arrows etc.

I find the games we play the least with are the ones requiring the
gun or the robot. The gun because it is not challenging enough and
the robot because of the set up time.

Look forward to future communication, Happy New Year, regards Chris

    Hi,

Among the many terrific gifts I got for Christmas was a Nintendo
    Entertainment System.

By chance a friend told me about this conference: a lot of information!

Of course I have SMB and Duck Hunt, but I'm looking for suggestions
    on some great games.

Thanx to Santa I'm now a member of a very large club of Nintendo owners

crowds was over)

 Name: Chuck Gillis
 Loc: DAS - Andover MA
Duties: Keep up with Nintendo Conference (P/A when I get the chance)

System: Nintendo Power Set (and I have the tired bones to prove it)

 Games: SMB/Duck Hunt/Track & Field
        TOP GUN

Accesories: NES Advantage Joystick (thanx again Santa)

P.S. I'm grateful for the info in this conference it's kept me from getting too
frustrated with SMB

P.P.S. I also have the SEGA System (double the fun - double the game "cartridge"
budget)

Just got the basic Nintendo system for Christmas. My parents also have
one, so I've played some of the games before.

So far, I have the following cartridges:

	Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
	Millipede
	Defender II
	Donkey Kong Classics

As you can probably see, I am more into the arcade-style games, as
opposed to the adventure-Zelda types. I guess its all that practice
I had in the arcades when I was younger.

Let me introduce myself to the audience of the NINTENDO notes file:

    My Name: Frank Waldner (Toronto)
Type of Game System own: Nintendo Action Set
Accessories: just what came with the NES
					- Super Marios Bros.
					- Duck Hunt
    Games I have: - 1943
    					- Soloman's Key

I bought the game for my 9 year old son at Lechmere's in Nashua last summer
and I must say that it saved me a lot of money compared to the prices in Canada.
Let's face it, I was a soft touch since I wanted the game as much as my son did,
but I couldn't admit that could I? I picked up the other games a Kay Bee's at
the same mall just before Christmas.

I mastered SMB in two months and doubt that anyone can get from 1-1 to the
end of 8-4 in less than twelve minutes. I am having a lot of fun with Soloman's
Key right now. My son likes 1943 (shoot 'em up) better. I sure is a time-
waster though.

    Hi all,

My name is Steve Avis, and I recently purchased the Nintendo
system for my kids for a Christmas present but have found that it
really was more of a present for myself.

I bought the kit with the Power Pad (System, Gun, and Pad), but
have yet had the opportunity to use the pad (correctly anyways),
    but soon.

I have yet to purchase any additional games, so my current inventory
consists of Mario Bro., Duckhunt, and Track Meet.

and I have LOTS of beginner questions....hopefully they won't
be too redundant for you experts to answer...

I look forward to enjoying this conference as much as the rest
    of you obviously do....

hooked. It's a good thing I took time off over the holidays I'm not sure
playing Zelda for 19 hours did my thumb any good but it did get me through
level-4...Boy was the ladder hard to find. I cheated I used this conference!

The Power Pad is great, it gives your thumb a break!

And he left me the basic Nintendo set under the tree! I'm a software engineer
in Mid-Range Systems Engineering and I'm having a blast so far with my set.
I thought I was doing good with my games until I read other notes in this
conference that I just found the other day!

So far I have:

Mario Brothers: reached 4-3
Duck Hunt into the 20s on Single Duck when I got bored
Tyson's Punch Out My favorite, but have only made it to the gorilla like
person with the bad waist band on his shorts!
Top Gun Is there really a Carrier in the second level? I haven't
		   seen it yet!

Rented Jackal and Major League Baseball. Wasn't impressed with either. Glad
to have rented rather than have bought.

See ya in the notes!

After 3 Christmas' of asking for a video game, Santa FINALLY brought
my 8 year old a Nintendo for Christmas. It is the basic set, I
guess, which includes the gun. It came with one cartridge - Super
Mario Brothers & Duck Hunt. So far my son & I have made it into
the 4th level of the 1st world, as well as into the 1st levels of
    the Warped Zone - worlds 2, 3, & 4.

Santa also put Major League Baseball into my son's stocking. He's
not too thrilled by it, and never plays it unless I challenge him
to a game. So, I've been playing against the computer. So far,
in less than 2 weeks, I've managed to beat the computer twice!.
I'm hoping that the hand eye coordination that is required for batting
will help my own batting average when I return to the softball diamonds
    this spring.

I'm Mark Henderson, Software Services in Baton Rouge, LA. Santa
brought a Power Set (gun+power pad) for my six year old daughter
(wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I only have the cartridge that came
with the system (Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and World Class Track),
but we're really excited about all the games that are available.

The video rental stores around here rent the games and cartridges,
so we'll be previewing a lot of the games before I buy anything.

I am really surprised by how well my 6-year-old can play Mario
Brothers. She has made it through worlds 1-3 and (through the Warp
    Zone) 2-1, 2-2, and 2-3. I'm hooked.

My son and I got together and asked Santa for a Nintendo. We now have
the system with the light gun AND the NES Advantage. We have Super Mario
Bros., Duck Hunt and Top Gun. We are renting a some games to see what
might be good for expansion and I have found this conference to be a
useful source of information.

Who am I? I'm an engineer at the LKG (Littleton MA) facility. My son
is a 7-year-old "Top Gun". My wife, a manager in the Mill, scoffed a
bit at the idea of the Nintendo being a "family" gift but guess who I

for 8-16 yr old boys?

Ok, like most of you Santa brought this electronic addiction device
(has the sturgeon general listed the Nintendo as a physically addictive
subtance yet? he should!) for the kids (4.5 & 8). Anybody who believes
that I got land in Florida for yah!

I'm Steve Gemmel in the Rochester NY office (RCO). I work in the
PSS group out here. My wife, son, and I have been attached to the
tube for a while now doing SMB and Zelda. My son's birthday is
comming up and SMB II is going to be wrapped up for him (we haven't
    opened it (yet).

So far :	Top Gun - blown the land base, killed in fourth
    					round by those pesky choppers
Bump'n Jump	- second level - third screen
Hogan's Alley	- round 8 of the street scenes
Zelda - level five (all of us!)
SMB II - still in the box (?)

We do Zelda as a group effort but each person has to do the work
for his own Link. As a group I think we racked up about 24 hours
over the weekend (and just got the game Sat. afternoon!)

My four 1/2 year old loves Bump'n Jump, Hogan's Alley and Duck Hunt
since the shooting can be done at a range of .00001 inches from
the screen (she's pretty good at it too!)

Well, time to get off of here, finish up work, and head out to home
and Zelda...oops...wife and family (just kidding).

The ATARI is now completely out of date and the CBS is a bit tired. It's sad

few cartridges: SLALOM, PUNCH-OUT, ZELDA, METROID, GYROMITE, DUCK HUNT, GOLF,

The best ones to me are ZELDA, SUPER MARIO, PUNCH-OUT, GOLF and METROID, in

    Hi,

My name is Dave Langston. I just bought the Ninetendo Action Set.
All the Chicago stores seem to have been out of stock since XMAS.
The set now comes bundled with the Zapper pistol and Super Mario/Duck
Hunt on a single cartridge. Cost was $119.99 at a SILO store.

I am particularly interested in using the NES with my son who is
4 years old. The benefits in hand-eye coordination, active play
over passive TV watching and plain old fun should be enormous.

I'm Jim Wiechmann. I recently had a birthday, at which time I became
very old. So I made my wife get me Nintendo to make me feel young
again. Instead, I stay up late playing, and feel much older.

I've got the action set ($99.99 at Highland Superstore in Nashua),
Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, and Limited Funds. Once I beat
the third game on the list, I'm planning on buying one of the
    baseball games.

I've been playing for about a week, and made it to 3-4 without
warping or the "turtle trick." There's a lot of competition
for TV time (my wife tapes soaps) so it could be a long haul.

	Hello!

My name is Rob Dumais (I'm not a Junior Bob Dumais). I have had my Nintendo
for over a year. We've got 24 games. I have personally purchased
only 2 of the 24. Here's a list.

#Athena Adventure Island Baseball Bungeling Bay
#*Commando Golf Ice Hockey #*Iron Tank
  #Jackal #*Kid Icarus #*Life Force #*Metroid
#*Milon's Castle *Punch Out R.C. Pro Am #*Rad Racer
 #*Rambo #RoboWarrior #*Rygar #Section Z
*SMB Solomons Key *Top Gun #*Zelda I

*= personal defeats. #= total defeats w/father-in-company.

I have also defeated Castlevania, Goonies 2, Wizards & Warriors, Contra,
Gyromite, Jaws, Metal Gear, Ikari Warriors, Mickey Mousecapade, Karnov,
SMB 2. I feel that's quite a list. After I saw the actual notes in this file
I became really interested. I have all but one instruction booklet and box,
which belongs to Kid Icarus (A kid at school let me keep it!). If anyone wants
a trade I might be able to help you (Depends on which game it is), or if you
want to purchase. Has anyone noticed that after you buy a game and beat it
you rarely play it again? Many of these games I barely play anymore, just
because they bore me.
I noticed the Power Players section in Nintendo Power, but never thought
about writing to them. Speaking about Nintendo Power I only have three issues
July/August 88, January/February 89, and March/April 89 and I think I missed
out on a couple issues?! Anyway, I have been memorizing the maps and tips on
Zelda II(which I'm still waiting to get `way up here in Maine'). I hear that
you guys order your games from TYRSOFT. The last time I checked SEARS had a
pretty big line of games?.
Most of the new games I haven't gotten around to see. There's so many
games I want to try, but they're never in. To me it's worth a little wait
whereas, the games come to Augusta and Waterville (not far from me), but this
is getting ridiculous `way up here in Maine'! Therefore, I may try some
ordering. I tried Service Merchandise three weekends in a row, although I
knew they wouldn't have any orders in.
So, this is me, glad to meet you.

HELLO! My name is Sharon Becraft and I work at the Digital facility
    in Irvine, California (IVO).

We recently bought a Nintendo system, which came with Super Mario
Brothers and Duck Hunt. SMB is fantastic. When we finally concurred
that we bought Super Mario Brothers 2. O MY GOD! This may put
    me complete over the edge.

    Hi!

Some of you have already heard from me as I have become an avid
watcher of the For Sale items. A couple of weeks ago I bought a set
listed in the Classified_Ads notes file. It will be my son's Christmas
present. It came with several games. I have "tried" them out several
times to make sure (ahem) they still work. I can see that WE will have
lots of fun this Christmas...if I can wait that long.

This notes files has really helped me feel confident about which games
to buy...now if I could only find TETRIS from Nengen.

I'm sure we'll be talking a lot from now on!!

    HELLO,
MY NAME IS TONY. I'M A F.S. ENGINEER AT THE WHO (TARRYTOWN, NY)
OFFICE. I AM A NINTENDO ADDICT. UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T GET TO PLAY
WITH IT MUCH BECAUSE MY WIFE DOESN'T PLAY, AND SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE
WAY IT BREAKS THE STREAM OF OUR RELATIONSHIP, WHEN I PLAY.

WHO CAN BLAME ME? I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO CAN PLAY SUPER MARIO
BROTHERS II AND CARRY A CONVERSATION AT THE SAME TIME. THOSE WHO
CAN SHOULD OPEN A NOTES FILE TO HELP THOSE WHO CAN'T.

WHEN I DO PLAY, MY FAVORITE GAMES THAT I OWN ARE "BASES LOADED",
"BLADES OF STEEL", "NFL", AND OF COURSE "SUPER MARIO BRO. II".
AS YOU PROBABLY FIGURED OUT I'M A SPORTS NUT. I LIKE SPORTS GAME
THE MOST BECAUSE EVERY GAME YOU PLAY IS DIFFERENT. EXCEPT FOR MARIO
WHICH I ENJOY (STILL IN WORLD 3, BUT THEN AGAIN HAVEN'T PLAYED IT
IN SIX WEEKS), I DON'T REALLY LIKE GAMES YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW A PATTERN
TO REACH THE END, I GET BORED QUICKLY. THOUGH I'M STILL LOOKING
FOR ANOTHER MARIO AT THE SAME TIME TRYING NOT TO SPEND TOO MUCH.
MY WIFE KEEPS TRACK OF HOME FINANCES.

I ALSO OWN "PLATOON", "SUPER PITFALL (DISAPPOINTMENT)",
    "QUATERBACK (DISAPPOINTMENT, I'D LIKE 42DOLLARBACK)",
"SPY VS. SPY (ONLY GAME WIFE CAN PLAY)", AND I THINK THATS IT.

FRIENDS AND I RUN NINTENDO HOCKEY (BLADES OF STEEL), BASEBALL
(BASES LOADED), AND FOOTBALL (NFL) LEAGUES. THE CHAMPION AT THE
END OF THE SEASON WINS A TRIP TO JAMAICA.

                       *** JUST KIDDING ***

WINNER GETS A PIE FROM DOMINOES PIZZA (BUT WE ALL EAT IT ANYWAY).

I THINK ITS TIME TO CLOSE THIS ENTRY. I WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD
TO LOOKING INTO NINTENDO NOTES AND ANSWERS ABOUT WHAT TO DO ABOUT
MY WIFE (ACCEPT DIVORCE, I DO LOVE HER) I'LL LOOK FOR IT UNDER
    NOTEFILE QUARK::HUMAN_RELATIONS.

Hi, I guess I'll introduce myself since I've been using these notes for a
few months now.

My name is Linda Brouillet
work (?) in ICO - Chelmsford
Site Support Person so-to-speak

I first bought the NES - basic for my "grandson" for XMAS in 1988, I got
him LINK II to go with it.... he was grounded from using the system the
following January - wouldn't stay off it. Soooooo, I "borrowed" the
system and LINK.... several months later, he asked for it back.... well, I
bought him another one to take its place and have been hooked ever since.

I bought ZELDA 1 thru these notes and it was the BEST investment I've made.

It has taken me awhile to go thru PHASE 1 as I only got on it once or twice
during the week in the Summer. Had a hard time with LEVEL 5, but once I
got my 12 hearts went on to 6, 7, 8 and 9. Only went into LEVEL 9 3 times
before defeating Gannon - but the notes file was a great help...

Also have LINK 2 - stuck trying to "kill" the dragon in Castle 6 - once
ZELDA is saved I'll go back to that one.

Also have MB 1 / duckhunt - came with set - I did great on Duckhunt but MB
has me stumped..... I gave up on that one... I like adventure....

Also have Milton's Secret Castle - gone in it a couple of times looks like
it might be a fun game..... but I have to save ZELDA first....

Anyway, I'm hooked, my boyfriend thinks I'm "nuts", he's probably right,
but I'm having fun....

Linda

Just Say Yo! to Nintendo....I did just last night. Bought the basic
game with gun at the Burlington Nintendo shop at the Mall. Went home,
set it up, then spent 6 straight hours in front of the set playing
Super Mario Bro's, and *boo-hoo* my thumb hurts me now...;-)

    Really addicting...Unbelievable!

So this weekend I am going to rent a few games first at Videosmith and
see what I like...and than I'll have the impetus to buy every game
I ever wanted...The hell with the Mortgage and Visa bills and the phone

Me and Mine have just gotten the basic system w/ zapper and a friend exchanged
the original Mario Bros/Duckhunt with the one supporting the Power Pad...

To date, we have...

	SMB/Duckhunt/Track_Field
	Ducktales
	Sesame Street ABCs
	Sesame Street 123
	Othello
	Shadowgate (new arrival)

Personally, I don't care for the SMB/Ducktales types of games. Repitition of game
is boring for me. Prefer the adventure type (aka Shadowgate).

Kids love the Sesame Street set and wife enjoys the Othello cartridge.

    Hi ,

I just joined the ranks of Nintendo Owners last night. I have a large
collection of Atari and Coleco Cartidges as well as several units, but
the kids finally wore me down ans saved half the cost of the NES($50).
My wife and I decided to buy the system and have the kids put their
    money in the bank.

I shopped around and found the best local prices At Bradles and
KAybee,($80 basic, $100 with Gun and cart, and 150 with power pad). I
planned on haveing my father use his 10% senior discount tonight, but
stopped at Highland in Nashua last night, and bought the Powerpad set
for $135 with no tax. I just asked there price and told them they
were higher than I could get it at Bradlees.

I have read a lot in here in the last couple of days and want to
thank everybody for their help. I am sure that what I read here will
make the games(smb/duck hunt/track and field) more enjoyable and help
me to decide what game to get next.

    Re .228:

There used to be a conference for home computer games, but it no longer
exists. However, the Games conference at PICA::GAMES covers all sorts
of games, and computer game questions are often asked there.

In general, you can find announced conferences by looking in
TURRIS::EASYNET_CONFERENCES. Read all of topic 1 before writing in
that conference, and look in topic 2 for conference lists.

I don't play Nintento games or any games for that matter. I'm just
checking into this conference bacause my partner is a consumer service
rep for Nintendo. So send me email if you would like me to find out
about any rumors, etc. I'll even tell you about the Nitendo employees
holiday party, if you ask. (Can you imagine Ken Olson and some of
our VPs dressing up like Santa and his elves and making a music video
singing Jingle Bell Rock?)

The most frequent service problem with the NES--dirt.
The biggest cause of dirt--rented games.

Hello, fellow Nintendo junkies. I finally broke down about three weeks
ago and bought myself a system. It's just as addicting as I thought it
might be. Anyway, here's my required personal data:

My name is David Ferchak. I work in one of Digital's many Los Angeles
offices in the Revenue unit. The Nintendo system that I bought is the
basic entertainment system. Not being thrilled with the provided
controllers, at first, I purchased the Advantage controller. I figured
that the game slow down feature would probably help me a lot. However,
when it had a nervous breakdown two days later, I returned it and used
the money for another game. The games that I have at this time are:

            1) SMB/DH
            2) Silver Surfer
            3) Godzilla
            4) Donkey Kong Classics
            5) Tetris
            6) Ghosts & Goblins

I have a few more games targeted for future purchase (unless I see bad
reviews in the file on them).

That's the lowdown that's fit to print. See you all around in the
    various topics.

If it wasn't for my son, we wouldn't be "Enjoying" Nintendo. (And my
wife wouldn't be complaining that we spend too much time on it!) Last
spring near the end of the school year, his class was selling items
from a catalog. Those who sold 95 items were rewarded with a Nintendo.
He was so determined to get one that he made all 95 sales!!!! BTW he
    is only 8 years old!!

We have SM/Duck Hunt, SMIII, Rescue Rangers, Marble Madness, and Dragon
Warrior (courteous of Nintendo Power MAgazine) Dragon Warrior just
came in last week and it is the first one I have enjoyed thouroughly
enough to almost beat. (almost did it last night, Maybe tonight....)

I have rented and enjoyed others though. I hope to someday afford
Tetris, Link, one of the Pinball ones and maybe some other

	Greetings all;

My alter ego's name is Don LaBombard, but really, I am "DONLAR"
friend of Link, protector of Zelda, dweller of Hyrule.

When not trying to rid the world of the diabolical evil wrought
by the demon Gannon, I am a Software Specialist in the New York
	Financial District.

As you may be able to tell, I have Legend of Zelda. A greater game
I have not seen. 10+++. Looking forward to getting The Adventures
Of Link, (of course), Metriod (highly praised herein).

Listed in Order of "Play-Time" (an excellent way of determining
how good a game is, in my humble opinion)

Legend of Zelda - A mind is a terrible thing... but not wasted
	on this fascinating, frustrating game.

Super Mario is great, but I think I'm too old to "win". My 3 1/2
year old nephew makes it to world 8 all the time, I suppose I
should watch him to see how he does it. (i.e. never too old to learn ?)

John Elway QB is good, but I've found out how to beat the machine
EVERY Time. I need a Human opponent. (my wife scoffs at the idea).

NES Golf is good too, but, I sometimes wish I could take on another
course once in a while (without having to spend 40-50 bucks for
	another game. Yeah - I'm a cheepscate.)

Tetris - BORRRRRRRING. Sorry, I can't see the thrill. This is the
only one my wife will play - Go Figure.

Rad Racer. Can't get past the fourth Circuit. Those damned cars
ATTACK you. Besides, my thumb starts to shred after getting this far.
Do I need a Joystick? Do I need my head examined ?
	(Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question)

	"DONLAR"

Hello, I'm Adam Cerling, a 13-year-old Mario nut. I've been using
this conference for about a year, but Inever got around to introducing
myself until now. My dad, Tim, is a Digital employee, and he taught me
how to hook up to notes using our modem.
I own the basic Nintendo set and the NES Max controller. The games
I own are Duck Hunt and Super Mario Brothers I, II, and III. My sister
has Hudson's Adventure Island, but I think it's too repetetive and
    don't play much.
I have beat all my Mario Bros. games. I rent or borrow games every
so often, so I have also beat Duck Tales, Maniac Mansion, Shadowgate,
Legend of Zelda, and some others (I can't remember the rest right now).
I have almost beat Ninja Gaiden and Megaman 3.
The SMB series is my favorite. I await anxiously the arrival of
SMB VI. However, I found out that it is a 16-bit game that needs a
whole new control deck! I think it's awfully cruel to do that to the
children of the video-gaming world! It's going to take me years,
literally, to save up enough money to buy these things! (If any of you
reading this note feel compelled to help this poor, deprived child,
please send a check or money order to... 8^] )
I also really like games like Maniac Mansion and Shadowgate. I
have some great ideas for making games like those. I probably wouldn't
even want to be paid if a company asked me for my ideas, just so long
as my name was in the credits and I got a free copy! If anybody
reading could tell me how a lowly 13-year-old might achieve this dream,
maybe you could send mail to my dad or something...
Ah well, that's me. I'll be reading you!

Got it for my daughter, but I have to go through and help her to get
past the obstacles. But she's farther along in all of them than I am.

Why is it that she can concentrate on her game and still tell me that
I'm trying to stick the wrong piece in that part of my puzzle? My goal
is to be as good at some of these games as she is!

I'm going to get a Game Genie, too, because I get frustrated going over
the same thing all the time and getting nowhere!

System: NES with Zapper
Games: SMB & Duck Hunt

We bought the system for Christmas for the 'family' (us two, 3 year old son
and 9 month old daughter.....) - had to have some excuse! :-)

I like SMB but the wife and son like Duck Hunt better. Will have to get the
neighbors 6 year old son to show me the tricks of SMB this weekend....

    Hi

I'm Daniel Laukaitis, a technical writer at ZKO in Nashua.

I have an 8-bit nintendo system and am really just a beginner
at this. I find that since I got my set I am doing less of
more tedious things... like working out and studying for night
classes. But, life can't be all work, now can it?

    	I have the following games:
    		Fester's Quest - (stuck at 3rd boss)
Castlevania III - (too difficult for me)
    		Mario I
    		Air Fortress

Plus, I just bought a few from people in this conference.
    	I'm psyched!

    See you in notes!

    Hi

I'm James Keats, Kelly temp working in CAS at HXO in Nova Scotia.

I don't have an NES but both my little brother and nephew do and they
usually leave it at my house for weeks on end.

I enjoy Zelda style games and the arcade style (Mario Bro's, Treasure
    Island, Capt. America etc.) games.

One thing I am wondering. Is there a note where people tell about the
'cheat' codes? You know, up-down-left-righ-A-B-Stand_on_head-etc. I
know they have some in the magazines, and some of the notes for the
games have spoilers. But I thought there may be one note specifically
    for that.

    Hi!

    My anme is Annie Velez-Soto
    Have the NES (my son's)
Have many games: SMB 1, 2, 3, Dr. Mario, Zelda, Link, Nemo
Dreammaster, Blaster Master, Dragon Wariior, Crystalis, Wizards and
    Warriors too name a few.

Of all the games played, I must say that I agree with most that the
SMB's, Zelda/Link and Startropics are among my favorites. I read this
notesfile frequently and decided it was time to join.

Doug MacIntyre, hardware engineer and part-time vidiot reporting in
from MRO. Whenever I buy one of these cartridges, I always feel
compelled to explain that it's really for my yet-to-be-conceived
child sometime in the future. Just planning ahead, ya' see.

I have the regular NES which I rarely use, and a Game Boy. I
spend more time playing games on PCs than Nintendo, and peek into
the Games conference more frequently as well. For the NES,
I have Punchout, SMB I and III, Zelda, Ghosts & Goblins (tough!),
Star Voyager (barf!), Xenophobe (pointless!), Paperboy and a
few others.

My wife gave me the Game Boy as sort of a "husband tranquilizer" for
those interminably long trips to the mall for clothes shopping and
the like. I now have PacMan (controls are not done well), Ultra
Golf (very good), Monopoly (very good), Elevator Action (very good),
SML (good), and of course that obligatory classic Tetris (still trying
for lev 9 high 5).

    Hello,
I have recently started working at the SQF site as a Man Tech and
have found this conference to be interesting and informative.
I own a Gameboy with the 'standard' Tetris game and Burai Fighter
Deluxe where I can get to the 9th level out of 15.
For my Christmas, my mother very kindly bought me the T2 gamepak -
but I can't get very far on this one (up to reprogramming the T2), so I
am going to try and start a notesfile on it for any pointers you may be
    able to offer.
