834.0. "Wario Land again..." by SNOFS1::GOW (A Gentleman With a Family) Wed Jan 18 1995 00:10

    I notice that there were no further replies to the Wario Land
    topic, so I thought I'd ask a question out here in the open rather than
    continuing a dead note string....

    We've made it to Course #40, and are stuck. We get to the completion of
    the course, and reach a room with a Princess. She rubs a lamp, and
    a genie appears.

    The genie then attacks by flicking little fire balls from his fingers.
    The lamp is left lying ont he ground.

    We can pick up or kick the lamp, and when it lands upright, a smaller
    genie appears, who also attacks, but disappears when hit.

    We can't seem to inflict any damage on the big genie. We've tried
    jumping up on the small genies in an effort to hit the big on on the
    head, but it doesn't seem possible to do.

    If anyone out there has been past this, we'd like to know about it.

    Thanks - Bruce

834.1And the answer is...SNOFS1::GOWA Gentleman With a FamilyThu Jun 22 1995 05:4112
    So just in case anyone ever reads this conference ever again, I
    found the solution on the Internet (gad!). Anyway, I haven't tried
    this yet, but those junior surfers say:

    "Pick up the lamp and throw it (or kick it). If it lands right side
    up a cloud appears. Ride the cloud up and jump on the Genie's head.
    When the cloud hits the ceiling, it turns into a smaller genie,
    but this is easily stomped."

    Ride the cloud....obvious. You always ride clouds in Mario games.
