821.0. "Games for Young Children" by CSC32::DUBOIS (Discrimination encourages violence) Wed Dec 22 1993 15:18

What are good games for young children?

I have a 5 year old who loves to play Nintendo. However, he is easily
frustrated by games which are too hard for him. He especially loves
adventure games (like Zelda, Final Fantasy) but mostly watches me play
since it doesn't take long (at least on the SNES versions) before he
feels incompentent.

What games (adventure or otherwise) would you recommend for little kids?

    I don't want to start an old discussion again but you could use the
    Game Genie to give him some extra power to get further in the game. I
    know it's a bit of cheating, but for kids it's satisfying.

    Fore more description (& lotsa discussion) see the Game Genie topic
    elsewhere in this conference.

Thanks, Peter. I did read that and because of it I went out yesterday and
got him a Game Genie for SNES. I still think answers to this question will
be helpful over time, though, so I look forward to input. :-)

    Carol, who also has a 1 year old who someday will want to play, too  :-}
