473.0. "Castle of Dragon" by HYSTER::HITCHCOCK (I'm virtually everywhere.) Thu Jun 14 1990 20:03

Just wanted to let people know I tried this game fairly extensively
and have to advise you to not spend your money on it. The screen is
a character that moves only from left to right and kills other
characters that appear. With a Nintendo Advantage, I basically just
held down the A button and kept walking. Once one area is completed,
you automatically go on to the next "part" of the "adventure" which
is more of the same.

There is some skill involved, in that you need to jump very
precisely at different points, and it's very easy to fall. However,
there are no special graphics when you fall. The game simply ends,
no password, no extra lives, nothing. You just start the game up
from scratch and go through the same boring sequences, until you get
to the castle.

There are some magical items to find, but it's simply a matter of
wandering around the castle and getting them. Although typically,
you'll fall and have to restart before you get to the Dragon.

I got so fed up I didn't finish the game. Fortunately it didn't
cost me anything to try it. Electronics Boutique, located in the
Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, NH has a 10 day return policy on
Nintendo games. If you don't like it, bring it back with the receipt
and packaging and they'll refund your money. On that basis, I took a
chance on Castle of Dragon, and ended up getting my money back.
(There's also an Electronics Boutique in the Burlington Mall, MA,
although I don't know if they have the same return policy.)
