351.0. "Back To The Future" by AKOV13::SALLOWAY (You'll See Perpetual Change) Fri Nov 17 1989 16:23

Back to the Future is a tracked adventure game, a la Mario Bros.
You have to work your way through the city, saving Marty McFly's family
and avoiding the Biffs and other pitfalls. Each level is a different
game. I rented this last night, and haven't yet made it to the cafe.
The road game is like River Raid, you have to swerve and jump to avoid
manholes and other traps. You can get a bolwing ball or skateboard to
defend yourself. An interesting gimmick is a black and white picture
that fades at the bottom of the screen. When it disappears, so do you.

This game had a lot of good play, but I'd like to get to the other
levels before rating. Does anybody know of a way to start where you
    left off?

351.1It's driving me sane....ENOVAX::JANDROWSun Dec 24 1989 12:0410
I purchased Back to the Future about a month ago and it has me
pullingout my hair. I can battle my way to the cafe but when I get
there i last about a minute and one of biff's buddies workes there way
to the counter and that's the end of marty. The book has no mention of
a way to start your game where you left off if anyone knows how please
let me know (I'm loosing my hair fast enough).

Over all it is a good game but I find it too difficult.

351.2where's the skateboard pleaseESDNI0::LEPIREWed Dec 27 1989 13:2110
My daughter recieved BTTF for Xmas. Its got me crazy. Ive only seen the
skateboard twice. Does anyone know if there is some combination that
you need before the skateboard apears? Like so many clock in one life
or not being knocked down in one life. I would apprecate any help at
this point. I need the sleep.

    Thanks

I only rented it once, but I seem to remember that you need the bowling
ball before the skateboard will appear. You'll be able to go real fast
with the skateboard, and make it to the top. But I was annihilated in
the soda shop just like the other noter. Let me knwo if you figure
    that one out.

    ** possible spoiler **

The bowling ball will appear after you get 6 clocks without falling
down and then approximately 12 clocks later (again without falling
    down) the skateboard will appear.
In Lou's cafe you must knock down at least 50 of the bullies before
you can proceed onto the street that leads to the school.

Does anyone have any other spoilers for this game? I have been playing
this game for several months and can't get any of the bullies in the
soda shop. It even takes forever to get to the soda shop. Any ideas????
