    	Go to the info screen by pressing START, then press A, B or
    SELECT and the indicator will toggle from gun to whip.  Of course,
    this is only after you've picked up the whip from Morticia, which is, I
    believe, stop #7 on the quest.

    	It's not, IMO, any better than "pretty good".  I'm interested
    enough to want to keep at it until I've finished.  There is no password
    feature.  You can continue indefinitely with all your treasures and
    power, but you return to start every time and have to fight your way
    back to where you were (although the "bosses" you've defeated don't
    return).

    Ron,
    	Not really. Here you can accumulate and keep all the weapons
    and items you acquire along the way, swithcing back and forth by
    going to a subscreen. In Castlevania, you lose one item when you
    pick up another. There are also many places where you can "power
    up" without exhausting the source. Here also you can go as far back
    in the game's progress as you want to either to rebuild your strength
    or life. finally, ther is also an element of problem solving, as
    well as a familiarity with the "helpful" characters you have to
    see in the course of the game.

    Ron,
    	Just one final comment. Although the games are different, the
    play is much like Rygar, Wizards and Warriors, Contra, etc., in
    that in order to beat the game in one sitting, the sitting will
    be somewhat long (1 hr or so), after you have gotten experience.
    I kind of like it (though I haven't finished it yet--planning to
    this weekend) Will add a note when I'm done.

	Hello, I go this game for Christmas l989 and need help defeating
	Mr. Thunderblade - the third boss.  I have the whip, best gun, full
	up on life , potions, vice grips, missiles, T.N.T., but don't seem
	to be able to do him in - he does  me in before I really get a
	chance to put a dent in him.  I wish these bosses had "life meters"
	life the bad guys in Linkhad .  Any help is appreciated...

    		Well here it is, not much of a secret really if you
    	pay attention to the 3rd bosses action.  I defeated him on 
    	my first try.  I used a combination of missles, and gun power.
    	Once out of missles I used the gun.  The key to defeat is wait
    	until he drops his shield, only then will your weapons have
    	effect!

    I'm asking this for a friend, so excuse me if not asked "exactly" the 
    right way...but this guy is getting DESPERATE!!!
    
    He's fighting the third boss, and is looking for the "house off the 
    main path" to expand or increase his health/life from original 2 units
    to the additional 2-4 units.  
    
    Any help, hints, or OUTRIGHT SPOILERS welcome...this guy has done me
    some favors, I'd like to help him out.  Thanks and

    hi,
    I rented Fester's Quest Last weekend and LOVE it. I found the place
    that increases my health to 3 units but I couldn't find the 4th.
    here's where I found it ....
    
    spoiler coming right-up
    
    
    	the first building (not house) that you encounter is a 3-D maze
    	the extra  health is in one of dead ends, you just walk into it.

    Anyone know how to get the whip in "FESTER'S QUEST" ? I rented it for
    a day and thought the game was okay. I could not select the whip

    You can't use the whip untill you get to the house where Morticia
    gives it to you. So, you can ignore the "red whips" found in your
    path untill then.

    I need help on this game.  I can't seem to defeat the first boss - guy
    with long arms.  We do a slow shuffle across the screen while I avoid
    his arms and pump him with the gun.  The sucker just doesn't want to
    die.  I have 3 health units, potion, invisibility potion, vicegrips,
    tnt, plenty of money and keys.  Am I missing something?

    	SPOILERS :
    
    	Heres how I do him in :
    
    	You'll notice you Fester can move a little faster than the
    miniboss:
    
    	Starting at one side of the room, move out of range of his arms,
    	blast him with the gun as he moves towards you. When he stops, move
    	again (just out of range of his arms). Repeat a bunch of times
   	until his goose is cooked. Note that you will get nailed sometimes
    	if you don't move soon enough so keep those potions handy!
    
    		its been a while but I think thats what worked for me.

    	never mind, I got him last night.
    
    	heres what did him in :
    
    	wacked away at him with the whip (full power). Using potions
    	and invisible potions whenever needed.
    
    	same combination worked on miniboss #3!

    To be honest out of all the games that I have tried this has got to
    rank one of the worst, but..... having started it I will cannot stop
    untill I have completed it.
    I have been playing now for three days, after 1.5 days I got to the
    spaceship, foundthe Alien...and died, and died again, and again etc.
    How the hell do you kill him? I have destroyed what appear to be his
    feet, and have used every device available, apart from the hammer on
    the television!
    
    Please please someone help me before I lose my mind!

    I don't know how good this game is but I had to buy it yesterday....
    I went to K-Mart looking at Paks and they had it for $10.11....PLUS 
    $5.00 off all video games.  So I bought it for less then $5.50...How 
    could I go wrong????  I'm sure I'll need help as I start to play and 
    I hope some of you that have already beat the game can help me.  Thanks

    Anybody know of any other super secrets in Festers Quest?

    I know about the extra life power-ups. Just wondering if there
    was anything supersecret akin to those found in Mario Brothers?

    Also, when you die, is there any way to use the continue feature 
    and not have to start in the beginning neighborhood?

    Ok. Here's the scoop. I love this game. But I am really stuck
    with this third boss.
    
    I have all weapons and missiles. I've read the notes in this string.
    I try targeting the missile on the boss and timing the shots so
    that he is hit when his sword is down.  .... But I rarely hit him!
    
    I must not have the timing down right. Anybody have any further 
    pointers on this boss?

   Dan, I am stuck where you are.  I try timeing my missles to hit him when his
   shield is down but he ends up hitting me more than I hit him.  Have you
   found a way to get more potions than Thing gives you originally.  That
   would be a great help if I could get more...  Keep me posted and let me
   know if you defeat this guy and HOW you did and I'll do like-wise...

	I DID IT!!!!!! I defeated the 3rd alien boss, and got all the way

	up to/in to the UFO.  Now, I don't know what to do there or which way

	to go.  Anybody reading this note have any hints for me??

	As for how to defeat the 3rd alien boss *spoiler*
	
	I just timed my missles right and used the invisible potion
	
	if you don't want more of a hint DON'T read on **SPOILER**

	I selected 'missles' from the subscreen and went in to see the 

	boss, drink an invisible potion, put the target on the boss, and

	you know those little white rings/circles that appear on the bosses

	sword just before he lowers his shield?  Either fire your missle
	
	just before these appear or just as they appear or just after 

	they appear.  Keep repeating this process and drink a life
	
	restoring potion ONLY when you have one (l) red life box left,
	
	I think it took me all of the potions and all but 2 missles to do

	the boss in but all your potions and missles are filled back up

	once you defeat the boss.  Good Luck!!!

Hi everyone, I just started this game - and find it fun but frustrating, it 
took me awhile to go thru the "tunnel" into the next area and I found the 
potions, but what and how to you get thru the white building (house), I couldn't
make myself move, is there a "secret" to moving, or are you moving when you use 
arrow keys?  It didn't seem to be moving but the walls did change a bit.

Anyway, it has been awhile for any games for me so it'll take awhile for me
to get back into 'practice'.

Just to let you know (in case anyone is listening) I got thru the maze and 
actually found the invisible potion  and got to the 1st boss - now all I have 
to do is live long enough to 'kill' him off.
