| Judging by the lack of response, most people have voted to avoid this
one. Always on the lookout for younger-oriented games, we rented this
last weekend.
It starts off with an SMB-type of premise and general play, but without
the quality and feel. Characters are pretty stiff, but Tom [and Huck,
if you play 2-player - alternating turns] can jump and throw a rock
from a slingshot. Action switches from a side-view to a top-view in
the second phase when Tom boards a raft and heads down the river. The
only interesting part is that he can still jump up to avoid obstacles
and lands on the moving raft. A rather large and tacky-looking
crocodile head has to be defeated to get further - made difficult by
the fact that you have such little control over the raft. Needless to
say, that was as much as I saw.
We rated it a 4 or 4.5 out of 10. Not eligible for purchase.
