283.0. "Nintnedo Store?" by SOFBAS::WALKER () Mon Jun 12 1989 13:13

    I was at the Burlington Mall (Burlington, MA.) the other day and it
    looks like a Nintendo store is coming soon. They have one section all
    boarded up with the usual 'Fabulous' on the front and then Nintendo
    under that. Has anyone heard of a nintendo store before?

It was in a magazine I read (maybe Nintendo Power..not sure) . The
article said that a chain of Nintendo stores will be opening over the
summer and fall...it will carry games accessories etc. all for Nintendo.

    One of the Video stores down here in Austin just opened a Nintendo
    section. They will be selling anything and everything with a Nintendo
    label on it.

       Child World (2 that I've seen) have set up the World of Nintendo
     booths within their stores. They sell everything and anything
     related to Nintendo. Nice setup too. Too bad they haven't come
     out with any half-decent games in the past year (IMO).

283.4"The" stores are out West..DEMING::TOPELFri Jun 16 1989 17:037

    My wife just got back form Phoenix AZ and they had "Nintendo" stores
    out there (vs "here" in New Hampshire). She made the store sound
    like paradise because of everything they had (why she didn't pick
    up some of the ones we can't find here is a different issue.......).

    Dan, I live in Phoenix and haven't heard of any Nintendo stores.
    Would you mind posting some names and/or locations?

    I've seen one in the Seattle area where their HQ is.

         It is in Metro Center, West side by the Ice Rink on the left
    side past the fast food places.

    In addition to the store in Metro Center Mall, I've just been told
    that Paradise Valley Mall has one also.

    I'll have to check Metro out tonight. I wonder why this area has
    2 stores and other areas have none? Is it just because that the
    Phoenix metro area is the 9th largest in the country?

283.8NINTENDO STORE OPENS....LAMBOG::BENTBob Bent...Maynard ISWSMon Aug 07 1989 20:068
For those of you in the Boston Area the Nintendo store in the Burlington
Mall has opened...I was by there on Saturday (it was crowded...) and
some of the games they had were: Ultima, SMBII, Link and I believe a game
called All-star Baseball (by SNK) as well as a good selection of other
titles....(Told me that TMNT sold out in 2 hours with more due in this
week)...sorry, didn't notice any prices....they also had 3 games set up behind
a display area where you can try out any of the games...

283.9Nintendo Store in Bellevue, WADECWET::APPELLOFFri Dec 29 1989 16:289
    There is a Nintendo store here in Bellevue, Washington. I was there
    yesterday. They're sold out of everything.

    Nintendo offices are down the street from where I live. They're always
    advertising to hire people to play games all day, and also as game
    consultants. My 14 year old is looking forward to turning 16 so he can
    apply for an after school job there.
