1177.0. "math on tv?" by AITG::DERAMO (Daniel V. {AITG,ZFC}:: D'Eramo) Sun Jan 07 1990 23:51

        In the Boston area:

        8pm Monday January 8, 1989	Ch. 2 (WGBH, a PBS station)

        Mathnet: The Case of the Swami Scam" (CC) 60 minutes

        A clever "Dragnet" parody (a recurring segment in the
        "Square One TV" series), featuring crime-solving
        mathematicians Kate Monday and George Frankly (Beverly
        Leech, Joe Howard) in "The Case of the Swami Scam." The
        math sleuths are on loan from the LAPD to the NYPD to
        help investigate a swami who's swindling retired lawyers
        in a betting scheme.

    This show is really aweful. I watched it for about 10min. and just

	It was for kids, so I defer to my nine-year-old's judgement.
	She thought it was funny and was engaged by the reasoning
	which "solved" the crime. I like bad puns myself, the worse
	the better.
