Hi,

I am interested to know if step-aerobics really works and if not what is the best
aerobic based exercise for thighs???

As far as a good thigh workout, the classes I went to two
years ago were not as good for your thighs as they are now.
Step is a fairly new aerobics form and new step movements are
being thought of continuously. My aerobics classes now all
have a section where they do squats and other exercises that
target the thighs and buttocks (and they are killers!).

I personally like Step aerobics because it keeps me interested.
For some reason, those other types of aerobics classes bore me
silly. In addition, I need low impact aerobics for my knees and
ankles and I found it much easier to adapt step for low impact
than it was for regular aerobics. With regular aerobics, I ended
up with a less intense workout when I tried to convert to low
impact (unless I specifically attended a low impact aerobics class).

    Karen,

Thanks for the info. I have recently noticed that there are boxercise
classes being held in my local area and I have always fancied tring
them. I didn't enjoy all the movements in step such as toggle, toggle
    step, jump....

I am looking forward to the boxercise classes which I think include
body conditioning exercises. I will let you know how they go!!

I have seen boxercise advertised on television and in magazines.

It looks like a form of womens boxing without the fighting.

It purley for fun and fitness. I haven't had chance to get to the
classes yet due to a couple of meetings at work that have
sullen on the same day but I will be testing it out
on Wednesday and will give you my verdict!!
