847.0. ""JUST CHILLIN IN GEORGIA"" by ALFHUB::DAVIS () Wed Mar 02 1994 16:35

        Hello

I recently begin a diet of my own after being on every diet that is
out. I know what makes me fat! Bread and sweets. While I feel WW
Nutri/systems, quick weight loss may be okay for some, we all have to
find our nitch. So I started taking the skin off the baked chicken,
I cut out the real sweets (I eat WW deserts if I must have something) I
eat Brocolli, stewed tomatos, fish and other low low fat foods and
drink at least 4 glasses of water per day. Last year on WW I lost
22.5 pounds in a few months, I also gained it all back in a few
        months.
Today, I am proud to say since Jan 1, I have lost a total of 18 lbs
    	ON My OWN.

I seem to have reached a plateau for the pass two weeks but I am
determine to reach my goal. I am tired of staring at beautiful
clothes in my closet that I can't wear. I try not to think of
this as a diet but as changing my eating habits. If I can do it
anyone can do it... its called WILL POWER. Reading this notesfile
before I go to the cafateria certainly helps me to stay on track.
I will post my progress each week. My collegues in the office have
decided to join in with me and we have developed a support group.
I wish all of you that are modifying your eating habits the best
        of luck too!!

One more thing before I close Healthy Choice entrees are a great
product for losing and maintaining your weight. They are easy to
prepare (just pop it in the microwave and you have a great meal).
Low sodium, low fat and low on calories. Just an example: Honey
Mustard Chicken entree is 250 calories, 3gm of fat and 480 sodium.

That's great, Carol! I truly believe that making lifestyle changes in
your eating habits versus dieting (notice the word "die" in the
middle!) is key to keeping weight off. I, too, lost close to 60 lbs on
my own simply by making some permanent changes in my eating habits and
regular exercise. I hit some awful plateaus along the way but
eventually reached my goal. You will too!! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Roberta...Your words of encouragement could not have come
at a better time. I was about to eat a piece of cake a worker
brought to the office. I just put it down. 60lbs is absolutely
    wonderful. What a success story.

    talk to you soon

It's nice to hear someone winning the battle of the bulge through the
simple vehicle of will power. It just prooves that all these fads,
programs, diet groups, etc. are a waste of money.

    Way to go Carol.
