674.0. "Shall I close this conference?" by ASICS::LESLIE (Does anyone remember laughter?) Tue Jul 02 1991 19:33

Given that there seem two notes conferences with similar aims, does
anyone see a need for this conference to remain open?

Check out CNOTES::PROGRESS - it's been pretty busy lately!

674.1Perhaps re-define both conferences?EBBV03::LCORMIERTue Jul 02 1991 20:458
Perhaps this conference *is* redundant given that there has been much
discussion in PROGRESS regarding not only progress, but weightloss in
    general.

    Just one avid reader's perceptions.

Seems like two different aims, even if in actuality they turn out
similar - one to discuss people's progress, one to discus recipes
and methods of weight loss and ask medical questions, etc.

I think progress is more focused on RESULTS, what you're doing,
checking in and supporting one another.

This one talks about the WAYS to lose weight.

I think they both serve vital purposes.

Given that I started the PROGRESS conference, let me state that its
original intent was to serve as a sister conference to this file. As
others have said, this file talks about ways to lose weight. PROGRESS
says, "Hey look what I've done."

I'll leave this one going for the moment then.

I definitely agree to keeping both conferences going. PROGRESS is a place
where people can post "empty" notes that don't have any "real" content - just
congratulations or consolations. Here, we discuss the actual programs.

	Isn't PROGRESS a "members only" conference ?

I would like to request that this stay open. I've spent alot of time
(probably more than I should have) looking in here for diet ideas. I
requested some info and I did recieve replys via all-in-1.

I also know of several people in my area who are doing the same thing
and just reading for ideas more than actually noting. They are going
to put their results over in progress, which I will probably do at some
point also. There's an awful lot of valuable info in here.
