652.0. "limit fat to 30-40gms/day" by CIVIC::VORBEAU () Sat Mar 02 1991 01:07

    HI,
I only see a couple new people, are the others still around??

I have been in Merrimack for almost 7 years (March 12).

My current weight/health project is being guided by a HMO
dietician. I'm limiting my fat to 30-40 (gms).

Last year I thought I was doing a good job eliminating the guilty
cholesterol items from my diet, but my count went up! even though my
    weight stayed almost the same...

I have lost 5-10 lbs in the last couple weeks, I think; and the
doctor's scale shows -2 since October [+ approximately 10 over holidays!!]
so I lost the 10 and 2 more.

I can't be bothered with special recipes so counting the fat is
    good for me.

I only have sweets at noon; no caffeine; don't eat after 8:00 pm
(usually) and have found new things to munch on--pita bread sprayed
lightly with Pam type butter spray and sometimes sprinkled with
cinnamon and sugar. The spray is good on popcorn also.

I'm trying to find a second hand skiing or walking exercise machine
for evening/tv use. That's the only time of day I have to work-out.

Well, lots of 'maintenance mode' folks like me are still here - but
    we're not necessarily still a round! :-)

    Good luck...

The 30gram a day plan really works. I'm on a diet with a with a friend
of mine (just started today) and she has lost 7 pounds in the first
    week.

You can eat a variety of things. All the fruit and veggies you want.
Even sweets can be included in your day if you count the fat--sometimes
a candybar is 16 grams of fat.

Anyway, its much easier to follow this program. Not as restricted, and
    it seems to work.

Hi, I am new to this note, but am interested in the low fat type of
diet. Any information you can share with me would be appreciated.

    Thanks
