443.0. "Ordering "On Program" calculators" by VICKI::BACON () Tue May 02 1989 14:08

    I'm planning on ordering one of those "On Program" calculators that
    is advertised in Weight Watcher's Magazine (and probably other
    health related magazines also). There is a discount if you order
    more than one, so I thought I'd see if anybody else is interested
    in getting one before I pay the higher price for only ordering one.

    Price: $52.95 for one (includes shipping and handling)

       or $41.95 for more than one (includes Shipping and handling)

    I'd like to place the order on Monday, May 15th, so
    contact me before then if you're interested.

    Thanks,

443.1How about the WW one?COOKIE::WILCOXDatabase Systems/WestTue May 02 1989 15:037
Molly, I know it's a rather "fancy" electronic one, but is it really
that much better than the non-electronic version you can buy from
Weight Watchers? Not trying to discourage you, just didn't know
if you had seen the WW one. Hey, anything that keeps you motivated!

443.2What are theyEMASS::SICALong and winding road...BUT..!Tue May 02 1989 16:414
    	I've never seen one. What are these, ie what information to
    they store...??

Paul, you can key in how many of what type of exchanges you've had along
with how many optional calories. With the WW version, you just move some
plastic button-like things over a notch or two.

443.4VICKI::BACONTue May 02 1989 18:0812
    I didn't know WW even offered anything like this. I'll have to
    see if they have one at my meeting that I can take a look at.

    But, being the computer nerd I am, I'll probably stick with getting
    the calculator. It looks like a very compact, and easy format to
    read and use.

    Paul, if you're interested, let me know and I'll send you a xerox
    copy of the ad. It shows the calculator and describes it.

443.5LIKE THE ELECTRONIC ONEVAX4::DAVISENIS DAVIS - DTN 264-8746Thu May 04 1989 19:3514
    HI!

    I have the electronic calculator you speak of and I like it very
    much. Unfortunately I could not find anyone to purchase one so
    I paid the higher price. I like it very much. I saw the one WW
    offers, and I like the electronic one better. It is easy to keep
    track of your exchanges and optional calories, and you can program
    the exchanges and calories yourself as you go through the different
    weeks and if you are lucky enough to get on maintenance. It is
    much easier then writing everything down.

    Thanks for the info Enis. I haven't talked to anyone who has one,
    so I was just going by the advertisement. It's nice to hear a good
    report from someone who's got one.

    Thanks,

443.7What you have leftVAX4::DAVISENIS DAVIS - DTN 264-8746Fri May 05 1989 16:1313
    Molly:

    I was just thinking how much I like the calculator and I checked
    this file to see if you had read my note. The calculator is set
    up so that it shows you what exchanges you have left not how many
    you have used up which is one of the reasons I like it so much.
     It is so easy to see at a glance how many optional calories you
    have left!

    Enjoy.

    Last chance to let me know if you want to order one.
    I'll be ordering the calculators tomorrow morning.

    Thanks,
