396.0. "Joe Coyle, where are you???" by FSTVAX::SWEENEY (Susan Sweeney) Thu Jan 26 1989 14:51

Joe Coyle, you don't know me, but I have a question for you...

       Where have you been lately???

I know where you were last night between 7:30 and 8:30 but I didn't
realize you were *the* Joe Coyle who had provided so much inspiration
and encouragement to everyone in this notes file. When Peggy was
passing around your pictures, I looked at them and thought how
interesting it was that you had lost such a tremendous amount of
weight through the at-work WW at Digital. But I didn't make the
connection between the Joe Coyle of the notesfile and the Joe sitting
6 people away from me until I was rehashing the meeting in my mind
while making my weekly batch of WW chocolate logs this morning.
Then it hit me...THAT was *the* Joe Coyle whose notes I used to
get so much out of, even though they weren't directed to me personally.

So the point of all this is....please come back to WEIGHTLOSS and
participate again. Let everyone know how you're doing. I don't
know about anyone else in here, but I miss your notes. What do
    you say??

Susan (who was sitting in the front row to your left making rosaries
           last night during the meeting)

    Yes it was me.

Last summer I missed a weigh in and stopped going to the monthly
meetings. When I set my goal weight I had picked 198 pounds so
that I would have the 200 pound barrier. My temporay, goal had
been 204. In reality this was a more realistic weight for me.
I struggled for a few months and made the 198 for weigh in, but
partly eventually got just over 200 and stopped going.

Over the the summer I put on a few pounds and the Holidays added
a few more. I decided to show up at the Lancaster meeting two
weeks ago and weighed in all the way up to 224. I have lost four
in these two weeks and am resetting my goal at 204, at 6'3" this
    seems reasonable.

When I stopped making weight, I didn't report it because I figured,
"It is only for this month, next month will be different." Well
as we all know, that is the wrong attitude.

When I went back I was going to tell everyone here, but I have been
very busy and not noting at all.

By opening up at the meeting and admitting my total loss, I knew
it would eventually get back here and I'd let everyone know what
    was going on.

When things slow down arround here, I will note some more. I do
hope to make the meeting coming up at LKG next Wednesday, but can't
promise. I WILL BE AT WEIGHT WATCHERS IN LANCASTER NEXT WEDNESDAY
    an UNDER 220 POUNDS.

Well, I guess this is as good a place as any to put my progress
    report.

In note .1 here I said that I'd be at Wednesdays WW meeting in
    Lancaster and under 220 pounds.

Last night was next Wednesday. I weighed in down four at 216 and
beginning to feel in control again.

    Go Joe!!!!!!!!!

396.4DEC & WW go together!BOXTOP::FIELDSThu Mar 23 1989 17:5518
Hey Susan, is that really you? It's a small world, it's me the
one who keeps our husband in line over here in BXB1. He said you
were go to WW and said you were doing really well. I'm also across
the street from Joe, who doesn't know me, but I just started reading
this conference and have watched him lose at least 100 pounds in
    a week, now that's success!

Anyway, when I noticed that you mentioned Peggy and Lancaster.
Is this the same Peggy that has been leading WW for the past 8 years?
That's how long I've been going to her meetings on and off. I think
she is the absolute best and can see why Joe did so well. I used
to go with my Mom, but she stopped and I haven't really been back,
but I do miss her. If you're all still going I would like to go
too. I usually go on the Wednesday night one at 7:30. See you
    there.

396.5Yes, it's really me!FSTTOO::SWEENEYSusan SweeneyMon Mar 27 1989 15:0518

Hi Marilee....yep it's me! I had been doing very well for a while
around Thanksgiving last year but not so hot since Christmas time.
Also, I just got back from a 3 week business trip to Puerto Rico
so that didn't help my progress either. I wasn't going to go back
to WW last Wednesday because I thought it would be too depressing,
but I did anyway. The damage after missing 5 WW meetings and being
gone for those 3 weeks was only 5 pounds! I was so surprised and
glad that I didn't wait another week to go back. But I'm back on
track now and feeling good about it.

So I'll be looking for you Wednesday night...WW is at the 7th day
adventist church in South Lancaster...weigh-in starts at 6:30 and
the meeting starts at 7:30. And that is still Peggy's meeting and
she is still as good as ever. I usually try to get there before
7 to get a good seat and to talk to people for a while before Peggy
starts...so come early and we can chat. See ya.....Susan
