158.0. "New Scales Needed" by VAXWRK::CONNOR (I see the bad moon arising) Fri Nov 20 1987 10:35

My scale broke down and need to get a replacement. Anyone
have suggestions. Would like a reasonably good one but not
	a fortune - Thanx

I bought a GE digital scale about 5 years ago for $25 or so. I'm
very pleased with it. It takes a 9 volt battery which needs to be replaced
about once a year. It is also very accurate (within 1 pound of the scale
at my doctor's office). Also with the large digital readout, there's no
denying what the weight is. I've had to have it repaired once when I had
owned it for about a year - I stepped on it and a spring went SPROING!
That was embarassing! But, I had it fixed, and have had no problems since.
I think I bought it at Service Merchandise.

Another vote for the GE Digital. I bought mine about five years
ago and have had no problems with it. It is VERY accurate, and
as .1 mentioned with the large digital readout, theres no denying
the weight. It was well worth the investment.

I have a NSC model 22 digital scale by Novus Electronics Corp. I'm
very pleased with it. Large LED readout, 1/2 pound resolution,
battery powered, and the readout/control is on the end of a 5.5 foot
cord. I believe it is accurate within the resolution.
