71.0. "Weight Watchers' Quick Start Program" by CURIE::TZELLAS () Tue Jun 30 1987 14:30

Just curious as to what everyone who is on Weight Watchers,
lost during their first week (Quick Start Program). I'm going
right from Diet Center to Weight Watchers, and the director
said I will not have a big weight loss this first week. I'm
just interested in seeing what everyone else has done.

    Thanks,

    Kathi

In the first 4 days that I was on Quick Start, I lost 5 1/4 lbs.
One thing that WILL improve weight loss is drinking 8 or more glasses
of water a day. I've found that the weeks that I don't drink all
the water I should, I have a much smaller loss than during the weeks
that I do drink water water water....

    re .0:

I have been on the Quick Start Plus program for almost three weeks.
I started at 201. After one week, I dropped 4-1/2 pounds to 196-1/2.
The next week, I dropped another 5-3/4 pounds to 190-3/4.

You may also want to check the replies to note 15.0 (the "Progress"
note), to get an idea of how other people have done.

.... I lost 7.5 lbs. the first week of Quick Start
    		    3.5 the next week...

but the average has been around 1.5 to 2lbs a week, sometimes
    	more...

I've lost 49 lbs. thanks to WW! (11 more...)

71.4no major loss for week 1 here...ARGUS::CORWINI don't care if I AM a lemmingWed Jul 01 1987 14:4213
I really don't remember what I lost the first week I was on Weight Watchers,
since it was over a year ago. I know it was less than 2 pounds, but I wasn't
disappointed. I had been on my own diet for about 11 pounds before then, so
the easiest pounds were already gone. I had a very steady loss, usually
.5 to 1.5 pounds a week, up until I reached goal. This was easier for me than
say a 5 pound loss one week and no loss for the next week or two. So, don't
be discouraged with a smaller than "normal" loss the first week; you've already
been dieting, and you will continue to lose at a reasonable rate if you stick
to the program.

good luck!
Jill

71.5Where did it go?GERBIL::JAFFEThe Big Blue Buster from CMGWed Jul 15 1987 16:556
It looks like I'm the first week winner on plus. True I am 100 over
and at that amount it comes off easy. But I'll take the prize at
23 pounds and pat myself on the back (I'll be able to do it soo
too). My wife who joined the program at the same time was 45 over
and lost 13 the first week.

Wow! 23 pounds and 13 pounds in one week? How did you do it? I
lost 4 lbs. and am about to get weighed in for my second week on
Thursday. And Kristy is right -- the more water, the better!

Just joined WW last week. First time reading this notefile.
I think it's great. Weighed in last night. Down 7lbs. Only 93
    left to go.

I lost 13 my first week on the Quick Start program.

I only stayed on WW about 6 weeks though before deciding I preferred
    to "do my own thing".

Can you give me an idea of what your wife ate for the first week
    and an idea of variations.

    Appreciate it.
