70.0. "Tee Shirt Sayings" by CHESIR::WOLOCH () Mon Jun 29 1987 17:36

I saw this written on a tee shirt at the health club I belong to.

                              I may be fat,
                             But you're ugly!
                            I can lose weight,
                            But what can you do?

Its kind of crude, but it made people giggle.

I have a freind of mine that was giving me a hard time one day,
about my weight...My friend is male, and about 5'5". He no sooner
finished with his comment when my husband perked right up with...
She can lose weight, but your short generically! Same concept
as 70.0 but worth noting I thought.

There are some rude people who definitely deserve to have such a saying
directed to them. It wouldn't feel right to me (personal preference),
to beam it out at the world in general.

I do know the feelings behind it, though. Sometimes at my exercise
class when I am laying on the floor and can see my more-than-ample
rear in the mirror, and can also see other people having mixed
reactions to it, I get a lot of satisfaction out of thinking to
myself "If most of you were more than 50 lbs. overweight you would
NEVER even have the nerve to be here!"

    That keeps me going.

70.5WW SayingWCSM::HOTTFri Sep 04 1987 23:259
I've always wanted to put one of the WW sayings on a T-shirt.

"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS."

I settle right now for a sign on my office wall. It helps with
    the motivation frequently.

The shirt that I saw that I'm going to reward myself with when
I get to my goal weight reads:

I WORKED HARD FOR THIS BODY

I think this is more than appropriate!

I have a tee-shirt with my profile saying and was just rewarded
at Nutri-System with another that states:

           "Body by Nutri-System"

My friend has a poster of a pig on her refridgerator that says,

    "THOSE WHO INDULGE...

I have a nightshirt that says "Diet is a four letter word."

And garfield's favorite "Diet is just Die with a T on the end."
(I don't really believe that statement, but it is somewhat amusing).

Here's one (a little bit off the subject, but still fun):

"Most Women would rather be pretty than smart,
Because most Men can see better than they can think!"

    Glenn

    Have a good Friday!

If anyone sees one of those Garfield diet t shirts
at a store in the So NH area, let me know. I'd
especially love to get the one where he's eating
a sneaker! There are days when I feel EXACTLY like
    that.

    ANOTHER SAYING I READ WAS

"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS TIGHT JEANS FEEL"

I LOVED THIS SAYING, NEED TO KEEP IT IN MIND WHEN I FEEL LIKE FALLING
    OFF THE WAGON.

My sister has always been slightly overweight and
she came up with this little saying to keep her going....

Where do you attend WW? I attended a class in Leominster about a
year and a half ago, and shared this saying with the group... I
cut the quote out of SHAPE magazine about 6 years ago... Who had
    it first???

Despite the fact that many of us make the decision that we would
like to be thinner, I don't feel alone in my anger at people who
assume that there is no choice to be made, i.e. the ones who come
up to you in public and say that you have "such a pretty face" and
" what a shame it is that you are so heavy"...a saying I would like
to see on a tee shirt (thanks to NAAFA)

HOW DARE YOU PRESUME THAT I'D RATHER BE THIN

How about "Nothing in this life raises more false hopes than the
first four hours of a diet" (don't know who said it, but it is too
    true for me)
