| After almost 3 years of silence in this topic...
Do you know that Sierra released BaK for free (as a promotion for their
upcoming game Betrayal at Antara)? I pulled this game just because of
that (never played any RPG before) and now I'm really enjoying it. The
game is on their ftp server ftp.sierra.com somewhere under /pub/sierra
tree; the file name is krondorz.exe, it is self-extracting WinZip
archive 10Mb in size. You can just unzip it with any unzip utility if
you don't load Windows. Be aware, though, that the game needs too much
of conventional memory - I haven't been able to run it from DOS
although in DOS window under Windows 95 it runs just fine (I guess you
can make it run in DOS window under OS/2 as well). The movement is
very smooth on even my "ancient" Pentium 100. What's more interesting
is that I really enjoy this 4 years old game (despite poor graphics at
to the current standards and Diablo and Heroes of Might and Magic 2
waiting for me on my hard disk and their compact disks).
May be this is just because of a change but the game is really cool.

I have this on CD and saw something on the net about it and thought it
was a demo.....nice of them to do this, and it figures I've owned it
for awhile now....I should reload it onto my system since I have a
decent amount of free space on it, and should run good on my P-133 and
#9 GXE 64 Pro. I didn't get too far into the game when I played with
it, but I have read the books and they were excellent as well.
He's one of my favorite authors, too bad not many (if any others) have
put their works to game format. I know "9 princes in amber" was out a
loooong time ago for the Commie 64 (had it back then) as well as
Fahrenheit(sp) 451.
