1871.0. "Group changes on Hybrid Users..." by VMSNET::MALLORY () Wed Jun 04 1997 19:43
Hi,
I have a customer that uses hybrid users. His UNIX users belong to 2
different groups: users and bank1.
The NetWare side of the house the NetWare users belong to everyone and
bank1 the 2 NetWare user groups.
The Unix group bank1 owns a directory. In this directory NetWare users
copy files. When they copy the files from a netware client the group
id changes on the unix server to USERS.
They want the group to remain "bank1". They said orginally this is how
it worked for them, they were able to connect from the netware client
and copy over files that were in group "bank1" by and replace them with the
same file name and it remained in group "bank1".
I would expect the copy to have a group of "users" to allow for unix
access.
How does this work with hybrid users does the file retain the default
"users"group is that users are assigned to or can they have the
group remain "bank1" as the UNIX users do when they copy via Unix...
