Hi
I have a the same cust as note 1864 who is having the following problem.
Using DECUNIX 4.0a PWUNIX 6.1 eco 1 alpha 2000
He is seeing some "coruption" of the user accounts database.
He is saying that users can "disappear" from the system.
that shares can "disappear" from the system.
that users access rights can be modified from what
they are set on some directorys to the basic access rights of the
directory above.
ie global everybody rx
app1 group1 full control
app2 group2 full control
will change "for no apparent reason" to
global everybody rx
app1 everybody rx
app2 group2 full control
as if the permissions from dir app1 are removed and then the inherited
permisions are used.
It almost looks like "malicious" system interferece, but with full
aduiting of all events shows nothing from event viewer /elfread or any
log files for any errors.
Does anybody have any ideas what could caust this. The cust has 1500+
accounts and does do a few set file permisions, from a NT multia that he
is using as his admin station,. Could this be a corruption prob similar
to the prob of running permit tree on the 5.ox servers. Uning samcheck
is showing no "real" corruption probs on the databases.
