Hi ! A customer here in Sweden bought a product called Pacershare for Digital Unix last spring from us. Here in Sweden we have always told the customers that bought products from Pacer (like Pacershare) that they should turn to the nearest local reseller for support. The problem is that Pacer is now sold a couple of times and the current owners NETMANAGE and their resellers don't support Pacer products anymore. This of course means that my customer feels disappointed in the fact that we sold a product that they can't get support on. When I have investigated this problem I have come to the conclusion that Digital in US supported Pacer themselves (that is they didn't point at the local reseller that we in Digital Europe has done). My question is now, do Digital in US still support Pacer products in some way ? Another question is, what could be a suitable replacement product for Pacershare ? Regards, Richard MCS Sweden

Response from Product Management:
As you are aware, Digital has retired the Pacer product. It was a
product that was provided by a third party, NetManage, Inc., and our
contract with them has expired. Therefore, we are not able to provide
any support for the product. However, my understanding is that
NetManage no longer supports the Pacer product and has a new product
that serves as a replacement for which they have an upgrade program.
In addition, we have found two Companies that provide similar
functionality. They are; Helios Software GmbH which provides an
AppleShare/Appleprint style connectivity and NetManage, Inc. which
provides MAC NFS for those looking to move to UNIX style connectivity.
