1732.0. "Question on password updating on a BDC" by WOTVAX::SHARKEYA (LoginN - even makes the coffee@) Mon Feb 03 1997 16:06

    Question:

If an OSF/1 server is a BDC will the UNIX passwords get updated when
the PDC sends out the LM password updates ? (ASsuming the unix and LM
    accounts are linked).

    Thanks

ok - answered myself....

The PDC sends out a LM password change. The BDC picks it up and updates its
local UAS (or SAM). It does NOT change the native password.

Same issue if a Windows 95 PC changes a LM password. The native one is not
updated.

So, its up to another program to do this !
