1724.0. "V5.0G-ECO2 is now available" by EVTAI1::CASTELLO (UNIX and PCI Support) Wed Jan 29 1997 18:39

Hello,

V5.0G ECO2 seems to be available now from the ftp area on racerx.lkg.dec.com.
Access to the racerx is still through anonymous ftp.
In Europe see http://mosupc.evt.dec.com

The following is a list of changes since v5.0G ECO1:

                                                        CLD/QAR
 LAN Manager changes:

Backed out change of SEP 1739 from Calico to 45281
50G base. Two fields on the "Add Users" Screen of 303
PWADMIN were corrected. All domain checking during
a user add or user delete was removed.

Enlarged the connect indication array to 2000, up 45920
from 256. Also, added dynamic re-size of connect
 indication array.

Added code to print a error message in 44459
/var/adm/messages file when system runs out
 of knb or netbui resources.

Added full path to the lpr command to be passed 43994
to the runcmd() in print subsystem.

Changed knblink to bind to IP alias. Allows clients 890
connection across a WAN to a TruCluster Server.

NetWare changes:

Modified doprintf() to put output to a log file 44242
so debug can be captured for later analysis.
The file is configured to have a maximum size.
When the maximum file size is reached the file is
truncated and output to the file is continued.
This does not fix a customer visible problem.
It is an aid to problem diagnosis.

1724.1Unstripped kit?GIDDAY::WALKERTue Mar 04 1997 21:457
When 5.0g ECO1 was released an unstripped kit was made available at the same
time.

Is there an unstripped version of the 5.0g ECO2 kit available?

Thanks,
Richard Walker.

Richard,

did you ask Engineering group? (through IPMT)
I think they have for debug purpose and critical escalation.

Hi Richard,

If you need an unstripped kit, request it through Alan Berens who handles the IPMT's. Engineering
only releases these kits for troubleshooting. Usually they're built on an as needed basis and
for working a specific problem.
