    I didn't had tthe opportunity to test it, but a customer had the same
    behaviour!!

    Be aware.
1713.2lanmanager security changes after update.RANGER::BACHUS::DHAENSThu Jan 30 1997 14:4320
    I tested it quickly:
    i created a with following permissions:
            for lanmanager:                  ntfs:
    		administrators :full control	administrator:full
                users:none			dhaens:rwcxdap
    		dhaens:full control

    I reinstalled Pathworks V6.1(pre-eco2) (customer needs this one)
    and the permissions changed:
    	lanmanager:			ntfs:
    		everyone:full control		administrator : full
    						dhens : rwcxdap

    Now for me the securiy is fine , because ntfs gives me the security i
    want.
    But the customer implemented the lanmanager security only!!
    With every update he had to specify the rights again.

1713.3Are we talking the same thing ?WOTVAX::16.194.208.3::sharkeyaFri Jan 31 1997 07:499
But thats the rights on the SHARENAME - not the directory (isn't it ?). If
so, then all it means is that anyone can 'net use' to it.

Have you looked at the file permissions ?

(as in 'net access c:/usr/users/lanman')

1713.4lanmaner changed, ntfs untouched at upgradeRANGER::BACHUS::DHAENSFri Jan 31 1997 12:1311
    Yes,
    that's right, but i would expect that after an update (ie a
    installation of a eco version) the lanmanager security stays the same.
    As i expect that the NTFS security is untouched.

    As i told you in .2 the ntfs security isn't changed for me. But the
    customer implemented his security with the lanmanager security.
