Hi there,
I have a customer who is running a PW server with 5.0d eco3 and a
mixture of Win95 PW v1.0a, WinNT 3.51 PW 4.1b, Win 3.11 PW 6.0, clients.
They use DECnet and TCP.
When trying to print from some of the Win95 clients to any of the printers the
following error occured:
"There was an error writing to LPTx, the process cannot access the file
as a the file has locked a portion of the file"
The print job is put in the Win95 print que and the printer is shown as being
off line. The other clients running WinNT, Win3.11 continued to print to the
same printers without a problem. No error messages appeared in any of the log
files. You could print from DOS on the effected Win95 clients and could also
print from VMS. We stoped and restarted PATHWORKS and that has cleared the
problem.
Has anyone any idea why this might have happened ??
Cheers
Steve
