627.0. "NFT not copying " by NETRIX::"Langstaffs@kernel.uvo.dec.com" (Stephen) Fri Mar 14 1997 07:50

Hi there,

I have a customer running PW v10a eco2 and 5.0d eco3 , NFT v6.0.0.11
When they trying to copy a file from the client to the server NFT crashes
after a while. This only happens when copying files around 7MB. These files
can be copied to the server by mapping a drive and using cut and paste without

a problem.
NFT worked fine until 6 the clients were moved to a different area of the
Network
further from the server. All the clients are experiencing the same problem but

are all able to copy the files using cut and paste.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to any parameters which can be changed in
NCP
or a fix ??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay. There have not really been many files of any help for
this. We ran the logging on the client which I have posted below. The NFT
settings are all the default ones and all worked when the clients where on
a different part of the network. This problem has only started since they were
moved. The files being sent are text files. Here is the logging, I have cut
the
middle out as its many pages:

I hope you can make some sense of this. Any help would be appreciated as this
process was working fine untill these PC's were moved several metres further
from the server.

Steve Langstaff and I have been corresponding about this.

Here's an excerpt from his last message:

| Thanks you your mail - the customer left a message saying they dont want
| to pursue this issue any further, probably because it involves them
| doing some work !

So, the matter is shelved.
