300.0. "NH Child Support Guidlines Hearings!!" by SALEM::PERRY_W () Sat Feb 26 1994 10:20

     all non-custodial parents in NH**** TAKE NOTICE****

     I just found out that a committee has been formed
     by the State Legislature to "Review the effectiveness
     of the present child support guidelines".
     The committee will hold public hearings
     at locations across NH on the following dates:

      Plymouth---March 2,   Plymouth Elementary School, 536-1152
      Rochester--March 9    Middle school, 536-7370
      Manchester-March 16   Memorial High School, 624-6378
      Keene------March 23   Library, 60 Winter St

     I would highly reccomend that NC**fathers** especially, attend these
     meetings and provide input. The reason I say this is because the
     last bunch of public hearings that took place several years ago
     to formulate the NH Child Support laws consisted of 8 woman and one
     token male. Because of the gender imbalance the rights of fathers
     and children were voilated. I don't know what the gender ratio of
     this current committee is but will find out when I attend.
     I attended all public hearings of that CS committee several years
     ago.
     If you cannot attend the current hearings written testimony
     is encouraged!!!!

300.1address to write for committee!SALEM::PERRY_WFri Mar 04 1994 09:4715
    The Child Support committee formed has 9 women and 5 men.
    A much better gender ratio than several years ago. The NH
    womans lobby will be working very aggresively to pass laws
    that clean out the non-custodial parents wallet and maintain
    that ***Visiting parent status*** for non-custodial parents!!
    I would urge all concerned to give written testimony to the
    address below if you cannot make the meetings. Thanks!

    Just a quick note to tell all interested that the hearings have been
    postponed for an unknown reason. I'm not sure why but suspect maybe
    the womans lobby thought too many men on the committee.
    Those NC parents may still send written testimony to:
     David Friedline

     RR#1,  Box 406D
     Bradford, NH 03221
     603-938-2685

     David is a member of the CS committee.
