I just went thru a similar nightmare, don't mess around with
the DOR, make sure you send them proof that you paid (like
copies of check stubs). My EX took their bogus numbers infront
of a judge ( without me having any advance warning ) and wham
the garnished my pay for an extra 25 for 6 months ($650
was the disputed amount ) I took me 4 months to get it straighted
out and 4 vacation days. This state is *(*T& .
we have some incrediable bozo's up there, have you heard about
the deferal of teacher summer pay law, the school choice law?
these are but a few laws passed this year which are screwing
the people of mass to the wall.
You'd probably save yourself grief if you straighten this out
the DOR in person.
( I sent them a court document signed by a judge stating I was )
( current, they sent back a announomous letter stating they )
( still thought I owed them the money, and they were going to )
( take it .... )
