23.0. "Violation of visitations is child abuse" by CSC32::HADDOCK (All Irk and No Pay) Wed Mar 14 1990 13:17

One major point that most non_custodial parents tend to not
consider is that violation of visitation is A VILOATION
OF THE CHILDREN'S RIGHTS as well as a violation of your rightes.

As such it can be argued that the violation of these rights
constitute mental and verbal CHILD ABUSE. The verbal degredation
of the other parent and the brain-washing of the children
against the non-custodial parent also, in my openion, is a form
    of child abuse.

The courts take a ho-hum attitude towards the non-custodial parent,
but child abuse will generally get their attention.

I agree. In our case, my SO (now hubby) tried to see his
daughter. His visitation rights were non-existant. When he
got to court, the ex agreed to let him see his daughter. That
would go on for about 2 or 3 weeks. Then all of a sudden, the
daughter would call and say she never wanted to see him again!
The daughter was 8 at the time. It sounds so corny, but the ex
was "brainwashing" the daughter against my hubby (saying he
was no-good, didn't love her, etc). I mean, what can you
do if the child doesn't want to see the non_custidial parent
due to "brainwashing"? The daughter now knows how much she
missed her father, and that we're here for her and love her
to pieces....we wish she could have had this realization 7 or 8
    years ago.
