13.0. "The Real Victims " by CSC32::W_LINVILLE (linville) Mon Mar 05 1990 15:47

While reading about Kenn's daughter's troubles it occured to me that the
children of divoriced parents really lack a support group. Maybe we adults
can help. Here are a couple of ideas to start.

		1. Let's send Kenn's daughter a card letting her know
that there are adults out here who care about what happens
		to her.

		2. Establish a pen pal club for the kids.

		3. When a child is in trouble, respond to them letting them
		know they are not alone.

As adults we listen to each other and give support and thats good.
But we also need to help the confused kids out there. They need our help
love and support. After all they didn't divorce anyone.

That's not a bad idea; an international pen-pal club( I'm in England).

I don't write as often as I should to my children, I don't know
what to write other than I miss them and love them. Maybe children
can talk to each other better than we can talk to them.

.0> children of divoriced parents really lack a support group.

Sometimes they find one. When my SO (who is a noncustodial father) went
for a conference with his daughter's first-grade teacher, she told him
that the children with divorced parents tend to stick together during
play periods. "Support group" was the term she used.
