46.0. "Seeking Advice" by COMET::BELLR () Sun Jan 16 1994 05:59

    Merry meet,

     I have a question for you single ladies out there, where does a man go
    to meet women between the ages of 19-30, without having to frequent
    bars, clubs, and who (me) has to work weekend-nights? Also I've lived
    in the Springs for five years.
                                             Thanks, in advance,
                                                    Merry part,

                                                    Merry meet again.

46.1move to Boston? ;-)CSC32::P_TOMAROMon Jan 17 1994 20:2918
    Wow, Congrats, you are in the most populous group in Colorado Springs,
    single, males 18-30. Not surprising if you consider the number of
    colleges and military installations in this area. If you are looking
    for someone you will have common interests with, get involved with
    an activity you enjoy. Just be a little selective about the activity.
    Your chances of meeting an elegible lady in a seminar on advanced
    aircraft engine repair are a lot lower than at a ski club or a community
    theatre group. If you can't find a church with a young singles group
    that suits your religious leanings, you are hopeless. You may not be
    ready to become a missionary today, but many churches organize "open"
    activities to attract non-members in your age group to "safe"
    activities.
    Look through the community calendar and the happenings sections of the
    local paper. Find an activity that you can attend on a week night.
    They are less common but they do exist.

    Good luck. Pat

46.2How about Denver?CUJO::PADILLAS. F. JumpmasterThu Feb 17 1994 15:2810
    I don't know a whole lot about the Colorado Springs area, but I do know
    that there are tons of single stuff to do up here in Denver. If you're
    interested in coming up this way, let me know and I'll brief you on
    some of what's available.

    Ernie,

    Why not just post them here? Robert no longer works for DEC, so you
    will not get a response from him.

    There is actually a fairly extensive list, so I didn't want to take up
    a whole lot of room or sound like I was promoting any over another. I
    will go through some resources and post some of what I think are some
    of them most promising ones if anybody down that way is interested.
    There are enough that you could easily make a second job out of
    prowling, oops I mean attending these functions. Give me some advice,
    since I am generally a read only noter. Should I put them in as
    responses to this note or give them their own?

I do so still work for DEC! Sheesh, I take some vacation and people act like
I'm gone forever. ;->

Anyway, I can picture it now...I-25 between the Springs and Denver jammed
with desperate young (male) DECcies on their way to (hopefully succussful)
social excursions in the Land of Plentiful Young Women. I bet this will
spawn incidences of highway violence more shocking than those recently
discussed in other Colorado files which will remain unnamed (mainly 'cause
I can't remember the guy's name). Or maybe not.

Happy hunting!
