I once compared MENNOTES to a zoo.

I'm starting to feel a little guilty about that, since the simile might
    be misleading.

Do you find that this conference performs the functions of a zoo for
you? Should it take the place of a zoo? What changes would be
required to make it more zoolike?

    I'll start.

    - The visitors don't toss us free popcorn.

    - The cages aren't as well cleaned.

    - I can't bring kids here because that would violate company
    confidentiality.

    - The whole "bars vs. natural habitat" debate doesn't apply since bars
    ARE my natural habitat.

My sweetie and I have much fun at the zoo. We spend lots of time watching
the primates, and its funny, they'll watch you back. Especially the couples.
We hug and kiss each other, they sit closer together and start grooming. It
was most rewarding when a petulant male stopped beating up his mate and
started snuggling her instead (orangutans).

When I watch the primate behavior in *this* zoo, I see a lot of copycat
behavior here, too. Pissing contests rather than lovemaking, mostly, but
hey, this *is* corporate America, and I don't expect much more. Just as
observing the primates behind their cages, I observe the corporate primates
in their cubicles screaming and rattling the bars at each other. Every so
often theres a cooperative exchange; something meaningful imparted, shared.
But I learn from observing all the behaviors, not just the ones of which I
approve.

yes, Ray; it *is* a zoo in here...

No. Nobody launches a campaign to send me to meet "4 fertile females
    in Brooklyn."
