309.0. "RELIEVED ????????" by BTO::WILSON_L () Tue Nov 29 1988 00:01

I can't give all the details about this situation, sorry...

A friend comes home early from a trip and finds his mate in bed
    with another man !!!!

Instead of being very upset, he says he felt relieved ??????

But he is not sure why he feels this way......

He and his mate are still together....

    Any opinions ?????

If he felt "relieved", does this mean it's what he's been waiting
for? (i.e., waiting for an opportunity and or excuse to end the
relationship.)

Apparently not if they're still together, in which case the guy's
a loser.

Maybe he has or wants to fool around, so he is relieved that they
are even or will be even.

I'd go for number 5's theory.

He's done it, or been doing it, he kept it to him self, but that
bothered him now he can bare his sole....

It would be a bummer for me.,.

why don't you ask him? If you're close enough that he'd confide
this info to you, you're probably close enough to ask why he's
    relieved.

Hard to tell what all the feelings and motives are without more
information - how does the couple view sexual exclusivity, what're
their definitions of fidelity, love, a good relationship?

And what's the point of all this? I get a bit uncomfortable with
loosely worded hypothetical questions of this nature. We could all
ramble on about our interpretations of minimal information, but
    to what benefit?

Why are you asking this? Is this an actual experience that you
or someone close to you has had? If so, surely you know more about
it than you are telling us.

Who's to say that she doesn't have her own job. A few assumptions
goin' on here. ;-)

The thought that entered my mind was that he felt "relieved" because
he had to "go" and the bathroom was obviously unoccupied....

Or maybe after seeing them in bed, it was too late for the
    bathroom?

    I think I'm sorry I started this.... As before, I really don't
see much usefulness in this topic so far.
