112.0. "Some like it hot, others like it not." by TRACER::FRASHER (Undercover mountain man) Tue Jun 09 1987 20:01

Ok, this conference is getting just too slow. New meat to chew
    on.

My wife and I were out looking at spas (hot tubs) and the salesman
claimed that women like electric blankets to be very
warm, while men preferred them to be cool. Therefore, women like
spas to be hotter than men do.

What do you think? I'm looking more for a survey than a stereo-type.
Actually, I'm only trying to get some interest going again.

In my case, my wife likes the blanket warmer than I do.

My wife definatly likes a warmer bed than I do, though there
have been a few exceptions here and there.

Spence, I can spot your hot tub fetish a mile away.

Can a bachelor get in on this?

There once was a girl named Rhonda who came complete with waterbed
and electric blanket. Rhonda had a close association with the
positive end of the thermometric scale according to fahrenheit.
Any heated activity in addition to her thermal preferences relating
to waterbed and electric blanket, would introduce a new dimension
to the term "solar energy." At times, for me, the male, it was
simply too hot to contemplate staying in the kitchen. :^ )

Salesmans claim is not too farfetched

Is an electric blanket similar to an electric chair?

    Compromise!

If the spa gets too hot, notch the electric blanket down to a cooler
    setting!!

Kathleen Turner under any blanket of mine automatically makes
it electric. Then I become the body electric! What was the question?

Don't know much about women but after a couple of wild winter nights
with the electric blanket on high, my inflatible Party Pal exploded.
Geeez, what a sensation that was! My body's still tingling. Can't
seem to get this silly grin off my face either.

    does.

112.10Electric Blankets and hot tubs don't mix!SEINE::MAYJimFri Jun 12 1987 10:554
My wife claims it's 'TOO HOT, in the Hot Tub!'...I think it's just
right. BTW, what temp do you usually keep it set at. 103 for me.

I must have misunderstood the question -- I thought you wanted to
know how hot we liked it, not how we liked to get hot! :) :)

    What's an electric blanket?

A bed should be well below body (skin) temperature when you get in else
    you can't sleep.

And anybody who *heats* a bedroom is a cissy!

If the room is cool and the waterbed up on high then I can
RARELY ever get out of bed.. I like my waterbed alot. :-)

Besides, it's great for my arthritis..

<---what strings did you pull to get THAT nodename, Mike?

I like to be warm, electric blanket on 10 until it burns (I know,
the fire department doesn't like this), and then I turn it down to
4 to sleep. I make sure I turn my heat off in the apartment. This
    is during the cold months.

NOOOOOOOW, I'm hot no matter what. You know, it's funny but right
before going to bed I always say, "I can't find a thing to wear".
    So I don't.
